COM M UNITY SERVICE WANDO HIGH SCHOOL Issue 1 | October Newsletter PURPOSE The purpose of this newsletter is to inform the Wando Community about all of the different service events going on at here at school and in our community. Wando has so many clubs that participate in service, whether it is volunteering or collecting goods, that we wanted to create one space to keep everyone in the loop. This monthly newsletter will give you information on collections here at Wando, different club fundraisers, service opportunities in the community, and more. WANDO COMMUNITY SERVICE COMMUNITY INVOVEMENT KEY DATES -ROTC will be selling raffle tickets to benefit Toys for Tots during all remaining home football games. The tickets will be $20 a piece and $100 for 6 and the prizes are either a Harley Davidson or a Chevy Cruz. Also drop boxes will be available at the table for people to drop off new toys. We hope to really make a difference this year! -Please help DECA raise money to support the Tri-County Hurricane Recovery Fund by donating your dimes. Donations can be given to any DECA student or the Warrior Store. We will collect dimes through the month of October. Each 2 liter bottle we fill = $700. -The month of October, FCCLA is having a school wide drive for Ronald McDonald. Boxes will be located under rotunda, media center , and CAS . The lists for what to donate will be posted on the boxes and are linked here. October 15th: Race for the Cure ad Volvo Car Stadium -October 14-16: That BIG Book Sale will take place at the Omar Shrine Auditorium (176 Patriots Point Road) in Mount Pleasant. Set-up and our special Member Event will take place Thursday, October 13. You can sign up to volunteer here.Address: Omar Shrine Auditorium, 176 Patriots Point Road, Mt Pleasant, 29464 -Volunteers needed to provide homework help and mentoring to elementary and middle school aged children at Greenhill Community Center, 707 York St. and at Remley's Point Community Center, 363 6th Ave.- both centers are located off Mathis Ferry Rd. in Mt. Pleasant. Hours after school until 5:30or 6:00, Monday through Thursday. Commitment needed - minimum of one afternoon per week?or every other week. These centers are operated by the Town of Mt.
