Grandparent—Grandchild Events Summer presents some caregiving issues for many of you who take on the role of babysitter when school is out. To help a little we have scheduled a couple of events that may break up a day without breaking the bank. . No grandchildren? No problem. All seniors welcome at all events. Registration is required and any payment is due at sign up. Pizza & Movie July 25 11:45 Enjoy delicious local piz-za and a movie with your grand-children. Registration required by July 18. $5 pp.

Cards and Games Bridge– Join the fun on Tuesday & Thursday at 1:00 . Canasta—Monday 1:00. Always looking for more players. Poker – Wednesday at 1:00 Skat - - Tuesday at 1:00 Mahjong American version is played on Monday’s at 1:00 Chinese version on Wednesday’s at 1:00.

We have an assortment of games available from Backgammon, Scrabble, Poker to Canasta. Mexican Train Dominos, checkers etc. Have a group looking for space to play? Give us a call, we’ll work with you on making it happen.

Interval Training Friday 8:00a.m. w/Sue Pronco. Start the day with this fun class. For those who don’t have time to exercise- You work, you rest, you sweat, you’re done.

**NEW** Chair Yoga Friday 10:45 w/ Loni. Gentle stretching, strengthening, breathing and relaxation. Registration required. Free.

Combo Class Tuesday & Thursday - 8:45a.m. $4 /class. Instructor- Nancy McInerney. 1 hour of balance, flexibility and strength.

Drums Exercise & Core Training Monday 9:45a.m. $4/class The Drums exercise with Jill Martin is a quick workout that will get you moving. A strong core is crucial to back health and balance.

Core and Floor Tuesday and Thursday 8:00-8:30 $2/class 1/2 hour abdominal workout with Nancy for all the early birds.

Pilates Class Tuesday at 10:45 and Wednesday 9:30 $3 /class w/ Alice Odachowski. Pilates is a body conditioning routine that helps flexibility, muscle strength, and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips, and back. It puts emphasis on spinal and pelvic align-ment, breathing, and developing a strong core or center, and improving coordination and balance. Stretching w/ Jill Thursday 10:15 Jill will help you maintain flexibility and strength in this great class. $2

Strictly Weights - Tuesday - 1:00 - 2:15 $4 /class. Nancy McInerney leads this fun strength training class Zumba - Zumba fitness classes are an exciting way to exercise, dance and have fun. Regis-tration required. Tuesday’s 10:00 a.m. class with Alice is full at this time. Friday at 9:00 has some room. Please call the office for more information. Tuesday 10:00 with Alice $3 at 10:00. Mindfullness Meditation & Tai Chi - Thursday - 11:45 A half hour of Tai Chi and a half hour of Meditation will leave you relaxed, improve your bal-ance and reduce your stress. Join instructor Bill Barron and learn to improve your health and your outlook. $20 per 10 classes. Bill Barron Instructor

Personal Trainer– at no charge! We are fortunate to offer the services of a personal trainer who can work with you on an exercise plan, show you the proper use of the center’s equip-ment and be on your way to a stronger you! The trainer is available to meet weekly. To schedule your appointment with the trainer please call the office.

Service Monday - Thursday 9:00 am to 3:15 pm

Friday 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Transportation is available daily to the center as well as to medical appointments shopping trips, bank, hairdresser, barbershop etc. Our drivers will assist you with entry and exit as needed. Please call with any request. We may not travel to where you need to go however we may have ideas on how you can get there. Give us a call. No charge for transportation to center or voting.

Reservations: We ask that all transportation re-quests be made at least 48 hours -two working days in advance.

General Transportation Services-$2 Available daily around Wakefield: to bank, shop, post office, hairdresser, barber, etc. Local area shopping are-as( Square One, Kohl’s, Target, other area malls , etc.) by request..

Medical Appointments- $2 We currently travel to local health offices and as far as Lahey in Bur-lington & Peabody, MGH in Danvers , Winchester Hospital and some Woburn area centers. Please call for more sites.

New Centralized Voting Location for all Registered Voters

Galvin Middle School 525 Main Street Transportation Available

The Town of Wakefield has moved to a central-ized voting location. All registered voters will now vote at the Galvin Middle School at 525 Main Street. As always the Council on Aging provides free transportation to anyone needing a ride. (This will include those under 60 as space / time al-lows). Please call for more detailed information or to schedule your ride at 781-245-3312. For questions about registering to vote, absen-tee voting and early voting contact the Office of the Town Clerk at 781-246-6383.

Looking to Get Out of Town? In response to your survey requests we are putting a few trips together for the fall. We will be work-ing with the Wakefield Recreation Department to open them up to adults of all ages. If there is continued interest we will expand the program.
