Labelling and Speci� cationsThe VWR chemicals range is constantly being upgraded to increase the range of products we offer to our customers and to improve the quality and ease of use for our customer’s convenience.

From July 1st 2012, BDH® and Prolabo® have been combined under the VWRC label – indicated in our product code pre� x.

There has been no change to the speci� cations and quality of the range and so you can con� dently expect the exact same high performance and consistency BDH® Prolabo® has provided to scientists all over the world for�decades.

Multi-lingual labels are designed to help you � nd the information you need easily and quickly. They always include an expiry date for unopened and correctly stored product and space for you to enter the date of receipt and/or when the bottle was � rst opened.

The labels comply with current European legislation. The guaranteed speci� cation of the product appears on the label. The speci� cations quote maximum permitted levels of impurities, not typical analyses. Certi� cates of analysis are readily available on the VWR website.

PackagingVWRC offer a range of pack sizes to suit your needs, while ensuring they comply with all relevant European regulations and are easy-to-use.

Designed to ensure minimal metal adduct formation through rigorous testing for the presence of alkaline impurities, they combine high performance and stable baseline of HPLC solvents with the absence of extraneous peaks, as detected by GC-ECD.

• Low alkaline metal content of maximum 0.1 ppm

• Impurities causing interfering peaks on gas chromatogram are not greater than:

• 5 ng / l of Lindane by electron capture detection• 10 ng/ml of Ethylparathion by phosphorous nitrogen detection

SORBSIL® CHAMELEON® Silica gel granules with moisture indicatorSilica gel absorbs water vapour maintaining a dry environment for your products. When the adsorption capacity for water vapour is exhausted (50% relative humidity, 23°C) the gel changes from orange to nearly colourless and the gel should be replaced or regenerated.

SORBSIL® CHAMELEON® uses an inorganic compound that is not classi� ed as dangerous under EC legislation, and so can be used safely in a wide range of applications.

• Cost reduction: the indicating properties, in combination with its high adsorption capacity, removes the risk of contamination or mould growth thus considerably reducing costs due to product damage or loss.

• Trouble free: this desiccant retains its dry granular form, even when fully saturated, while the high strength and abrasion resistance ensures that there is minimal dust creation during use.

When reviewing this guide remember that barrier ratings are based upon Ansell’s knowledge and expertise of materials and their performance in a controlled setting. Actual workplace conditions usually dictate a combination of performance capabilities; these variables cannot be duplicated in a controlled environment. A product’s resistance to cuts, punctures, and abrasion must also be taken into account as a critical usage factor.
