Dear OASFiSians:
Thank you for issue 341 of the Event Horizon, and there must be
something to say about what’s inside. Let me have a look, and
perhaps I can say it, or at least type it up here.
The description of the Batman vs. Superman movie…I doubt I’d
ever see it in the theatres, so getting the full description saves me
about $15. Characters like Superman and Batman are so often
interpreted and re-interpreted these days, I think they simply
become empty suits for the next actor to wear. One Superman or
Batman can be so different from the past one.
My letter… binge-watching The Magicians may be how we do it,
too. A few years ago, we bought everything connected with
Babylon 5, and we spent the entire winter bingeing from time to
time, and we watched it all. We’d like to do it again. We had a
great time at the Toronto Comic Con, and Yvonne got her picture
taken with Jason Isaacs. Ad Astra is in about ten days, and we’ll
be getting ready for it shortly.
Binging is very good for strongly serialized shows.
We are getting more ready for our trip to England…all rooms are
ready, we’ve decided what we want to go and see, the flights are
arranged, and with just a few more calls, we will be totally ready
to go.
That’s all for now, take care, see you with the next one.
Yours, Lloyd Penney.

Thanks for e-mailing the zine.
I agree with your review of Batman v. Superman. I liked it as a
Batman movie, but not as a Superman movie.
Best wishes,
Tom Feller
Snyder did not get Superman. Unfortunately the film has made
money and that will justify more films like this. I am not sure
people at the top of the studio will realize their mistake and cour
correct.
