There is a new trend going

around in the Starbucks world and

for the most part, it’s not a good one.

Starbucks has a new drink

that changes color when you mix

it around called the Unicorn Frap-

puccino. People are going crazy

over them, but when they taste

them they're unsure if it’s good or

not.

While this drink may sound

delicious, the Stratford Health

Department called out the drink’s

high sugar content. This new

magical drink holds 59 grams of

sugar; that is over two times the

amount of sugar recommended by

the American Heart

Association.

If you’re going to

stop in and get one

make sure you don’t

have any other sugar for

the rest of the day.

Lamb grown in artificial

environment

Imagine a growing a baby in

an artificial womb; sounds like

science fiction right? Not really

now. Researchers have shown it's

possible to nurture and protect

lambs in late stages of gestation

inside an artificial womb. This

technology could become a life-

saver for many premature human

babies in just a few years. Cur-

rently babies born at or before 25

weeks have a low survival rate,

and it’s the leading cause of infant

mortality and morbidity in the

US. With this new tech the babies

can continue developing. This can

make the di fference be-

tween severe health problems and

a relatively healthy baby. http://www.sciencealert.com/researchers-

West Fargo Public Schools

are waiting for the final report of

what the extermination company

found in the school after a student

and staff member report being

bitten by something. Students and

staff returned to L.E. Berger

school Monday.

The district communicated

with parents on Sunday to alert

them school and activities would

be regularly scheduled.

The company hired to investi-

gate the situation at Berger Ele-

mentary found nothing that would

impact the safety of children or

staff.

The bites happened in two

different areas of the school and

neither people saw what bit them.

The district says the staff member

was bit Thursday and the student

on Friday. The bites are small in

size.

The theory is that it was most

likely a bat.

won against Wheaton/Herman/

score was 1-0. Ashby was led

by Courtney Koefod and Riley

played have been tight all the

losses to us.

our first year shooters are finding

some good rounds as seventh

grader Carter Spangler shot a

Hopefully we can have some

Alvin York was the third old-

est of a family of eleven children.

His father’s name was William

York. He was born December 13,

1887 in Pall Mall, Tennessee in the

northern section of Fentress

County.

York had only nine months of

schooling his whole life and

worked at a railroad near his home.

Alvin York was drafted in 1917

and was known as a deadly accu-

rate shot and a partier. He was a

heavy drinker but changed because

his best friend died in a bar fight.

Alvin witnessed a revival of a

dead person by a Christian priest

so he changed his ways and be-

came a Christian. He married

Gracie Williams in 1919 and they

had 10 children.

At the age of thirty he was

sent a draft notice and wrote back

saying that he didn’t want to fight,

but was forced into war anyways.

York was known as the great-

est American hero and most deco-

rated Army soldier of WWI.

He died on September 2, 1964

from chronic physical problems.

He was buried in the Pall Mall

cemetery with full military hon-

ors.

Witches of

Melissa de la Cruz

Joanna and her

daughters Freya

and Ingrid seem to

live normal quiet

lives though they are keeping a

big secret. They are witches! Jo-

people from the dead and can heal

that can solve anything. There is

also Freya who has a charm or a

Once they realize that they

can no longer keep their powers a

Witches of East

book; it was also

turned into a T.V.

The T.V. show

still centers around

a mother (Joanna) and her two

daughters, though the daughters

were never told that they were

that whenever they die they

This week for my restaurant

review I’m going to do a sand-

wich shop that I hold near and

dear to my heart, Jimmy John’s.

Jimmy John’s is a sandwich

chain that makes subs ‘Freaky

Fast’ and they’re freaky good. If

you have ever been to this restau-

rant you’d know that they make

their bread everyday to give your

sandwich a fresh crunch. They

also cut all of their vegetables and

meat in store that same day.

My personal favorite combo

is the “Slim 5” with salt and vine-

gar chips along with a Dr. Pepper.

I like this sandwich because there

isn't a lot of meat and fillers in it

so I can taste the bread; the bread

is my favorite part!

If you ever have a party or

event, you can call Jimmy John’s

and they will cater with whatever

sandwiches you want. They also

please their customers by having a

customer appreciation day every

year. On this day they

make sure every sub

is one dollar. Make

sure you stop in or

make them a part of

your next event! There is a Jimmy

Johns’ in Alex next to WalMart.
