Dear friends,Olympiakos Volos FC board is organizing the 1st International Youth Football Tournament, with the patronage of Municipality of Volos.“VOLOS CUP 2011” Against-Violence is a Tourna-ment dedicated to the fight against violence and will take place in Volos and the surrounding area,

one of the admittedly best places in Greece.It is a sport event in which the participating teams will not only be from Greece but also abroad, thus giving the opportunity for children to enjoy football, com-pete against and meet children from the whole of Greece as well as abroad, unfold their talent and experience excellent hospitality, the wonderful city sights and the beauty of the Pelion mountain.

The teams’ chaperones, administrators and football coaches, as well as the children’s parents will have the opportunity to watch their children play and, at the same time, have four relaxing and enjoyable days in the most beautiful part of Greece, the city of Volos.

Olympiakos Volos FC Administration aspires to establish the 1st International Youth Football Tournament ,“VOLOS CUP 2011” - Against Violence as a regu-lar event, endeavoring to revive the everlasting values of the Athletic spirit, fair play and friendship.

Another objective of the tournament is also to develop a closer cooperation between par-ticipating teams, help to project local Tourism and enhance economic growth through Sport Tourism.

For the effective preparation of the Tourna-ment, a Committee has been formed which will be responsible for ensuring hospitality, the smooth running of the games and organizing the opening and closing ceremony.

The Committee will decide on issues that may arise and need resolving during this Tournament.The composition of the 1st International Youth Football Tournament Commit-tee is:• PRESIDENT: HATZIS IASON, Member of Olympiakos Volos FC board, Academy Director of Olympiakos Volos FC.• VICE PRESIDENT: TSEKOURAS NIKOS, Head Coach of Olympiakos Volos FC Youth Academy.• SECRETERIAL SUPPORT – PUBLIC RELATIONS: THEODOROU MENI, Responsible for the press office and marketing sector of Olympiakos Volos FC.• MEMBERS: KARAGIANNIS GIORGOS, GIANNOUTSOS ARIS, PAPA-PORFIRIOU DIMITRIOS

ENTRY REQUIREMENTSSports Clubs and Football Academies from Greece and abroad who cater for youth squads are entitled to enter the tournament provided they submit an entry application form completed. Strict priority will be kept.

Attached to the entry application form, every team must submit a list of all their participants, stating their forenames, surnames, date of birth and also a medical certificate as a team or for every individual player. The Committee maintains the right to ask for further official proof of the players’ age, in which case players will have to produce official documentation (A Football Federa-tion Identity, police identity or birth certificate with a photograph).

DATE AND PLACES OF THE TOURNAMENTThe 1st International Youth Football Tournament “VOLOS CUP 2011” – Against Violence will take place from Thursday 23rd until Sunday 26th of June 2011, in Volos and the surrounding area. Team arrivals are expected on Thursday 23rd of June 2011 at 13:00 (local time). The departure date will be on the 26th of June 2011 at 14:00.

FOOTBALL VENUES OF THE TOURNAMENTEight (8) different grass stadiums (11 a side), which all fulfill the safety regu-lations, have been selected for this Tournament. All the above stadiums are located within the greater vicinity of Volos.These stadiums are as follows:• Panthessaliko Stadium (Main and Training Grounds)• Public Stadium of Neapolis• Volos Municipal Stadium• Public Stadium of Dimini• Public Stadium of Portaria, Pelion• Public Stadium of Agria, Volos• Public Stadium of Nea Anchialos

TEAM CATEGORIESThe 1st International Youth Football Tournament “VOLOS CUP 2011” – Against Violence will be held for three age groups:• Children who were born in 1997• Children who were born in 1998• Children who were born in 2000For the categories 1997 and 1998 the football games will take place on 11 a side pitches with duration time 30 minutes and 10 minutes halftime. The games for the 2000 category will take place on 8 a side pitches (total number of players 8 for each team) with duration time 25 minutes and 10 minutes halftime.

TOURNAMENT RULES AND REGULATIONSAll official rules of the Greek Federation will apply to all age categories through-out the tournament games, apart from the “offside” rule.The number of substitutes is unlimited in order to give equal opportunities to every child. The referees will be selected from the local Football Federation while first aid staff (including a doctor) will be on site at every Stadium.

GROUPSThe participating teams will be divided into groups and will play five games each which will decide the final clas-sification of the tournament. The exact timetable for the games will be an-nounced after the completion of the registration period.

SPECIAL CASES• In the event that two or more teams come to a tie at the end of the 1st round, the score difference in the games they played between them will count. If this leads to a tie again, then goals will be summed up and the numerical superiority between “defense” and “attack” will be the determinant and in the event that this works out to a tie again, the best “attack” (the team that scored most goals) will be the decider. If, however, this comes to a tie again, there will be a draw.• In the event of a tie in the final round, the procedure of penalties will decide the winner (5 penalties for each team).• In the event of a game cancellation (due to bad weather), the game will be rearranged for another day. If this is not possible, then a draw will be used to determine the final result.• In the event that a player is sent off with two yellow cards, the discipline will not be in effect in the next match.• In the event that a player is sent off with a red card, the discipline will apply for the next match.• In the event that a player is acting violently, is verbally abusive towards the spectators or generally displays misconduct then he will be disqualified perma-nently from the Tournament..

ACCOMMODATIONTeams will stay in 5, 4 and 3 star hotels in Volos and the nearby area. The amount of entry fee to be paid for the Tournament will depend on the accom-modation type that each team is going to choose.

FINANCIAL TERMSEntry fee for the Tournament is 160€ per person for 5 and 4 star hotels and 135€ per person for 3 star hotels (Full Board). Entry fee for teams without accommodation (teams from the local area) is 200€ per team.

The package that is included in the entry fee is:• Three nights in 3, 4 and 5 star hotel,• Full Board package (breakfast, lunch and dinner) (beverages and drinks are not included in the price),• Transfer to and from the venue,• Free accommodation for the head coach and one staff member from each team.

The Committee from the Tournament will also provide:• Award trophies for the teams that will attain the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in every age group.• A souvenir for the top scorer of each age group.• A pair of gloves for the best goalkeeper of each age group.• A certificate of participation, souvenirs and memorabilia gifts for every child.• A souvenir for every head coach of the winning team of each age group.

An opening and closing ceremony is going to take place at Panthessaliko Stadium including folk groups and many surprises.
