Schlachter of Boisseau Avenue had the mis- fortune to fall on Main Street in front of the N.F. Bank and break her left leg. We wish her a rapid recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Salter and daughter. Delicious refreshments were enjoyed and Miss Bittner received many lovely gifts. The Puccini Mass, sung by the Hampton Council Ecumenical Choir at the Southold Presbyterian Church last Sunday evening, was greatly enjoyed by those attending. The group is directed by Mrs. Herbert Bellringerand is exceptional in tone, quality and interpretation. Work was begun this week on the SHS News The Southold High School Band will present a combined concert with Sayvillc High School Band on May 12 at 8p.ni. Admission price is SI and the public is encouraged to support this organizaiton. Tickcts may be pur- chased from any band member or at the door. On Thursday. May 15. the French Club and Bicycle Club will sponsor a bicycle race as a part of Spirit Week. The race will be 7 to 8 miles long and will be a relay race with 7 people on cach team. Each team must consist of 3 people who have completed French 2. 1 person who is currently in or who has been in the bicycle club and any 3 others. On May 8 there will be a bike safety lecture followed by inspection of bikes. Inspection will also take placcon May 9 and all bikes must pass inspection. There is a registration fee of $1 per person and first prize is a $5 gift certificate for each member of the winning team and second prize is a S3 gift certificate for each member of the sccond placc team. The race will begin at 3>t,T.m. The special Spirit Week issue of Sesquipedalian Repapswen should be out next week. The staff is currently planning their final issue to be on sale in June. Kilty Romeo returned to school this week after a brief hospital stay following an accident that occurred duringoneofthcgirls’softball games. This year’s prom will be Saturday. June 14 at the Southold Legion. The band will be the Linx and the prom will be from 9 to 3. Both the price and theme have not been announced. From April 30 to May 2 four Southold seniors-Paul Lappe, Debbie Ross. Dale Eissler and Laurie Verity - attended the Vica Competition held in the Concord Hotel in the Catskills. Barron Hill recently returned to Calves Neck fromj Palm Beach, Florida. The Kiwanis Club of Southold Town is presenting the Suffolk County Gymnastics Club on May 25 at 7 p.m. at the Greenport High School. Mrs. Arthur Lund, formerly of the Main Road and now of Patchogue, was given a delightful surprise luncheon last Tuesday by about 30 of the ladies of the Methodist Church. Mrs. Lund presented the ladies with a beautiful afghan, which she had made for their summer fair. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Markel and their daughter, Jean Marie, visited with friends in Washington, D.C. last week. They also toured Baltimore and Philadelphia. The Southold Homemakers Unit of Suffolk County Cooperative Exten- sion Service will hold its Annual Achievement Day Celebration from 12 noonuntil3p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, at the Southold Fire House Assembly Room, Main Street, Southold. Re- freshments will be served. There will bean attractive display of articles made by the members during the 1974-1975 program session. This is an open house affair and everyone is welcome to attend.
