In the first instance we create a long list of candidates who could potentially fulfil the position:

Candidates we have personal relationships with. Candidates from our specialist database who are actively

looking for work within your niche. Candidates we have previously worked with on

similar searches. Advertisements, at no cost to you, on specialist job

boards. Paid for external third party specialist candidate databases,

again at no cost to you. Passive candidates from our specialist talent pool,

referrals and the web (especially social and professional networking sites). This is the most time consuming aspect of the process, however this often identifies the very best candidates.

We will then refine this into a shortlist and attempt to contact and qualify each and every candidate based on your requirements, including; skill, experience, salary expectations, motivation, personality fit and location. We will also:

Typically the more closely we work with you, the more successful the result. To do this we have four tested and successful schemes in place which allow us to dedicate maximum resources to your requirements; these are our:

EXCLUSIVITY SERVICEIn the event that we can work on an exclusive basis, our consultants are able to offer you a preferential fee structure. In order to do this we set up a Priority Recruitment Time Table and a period of exclusivity lasting the duration of the timetable.

The more commitment we receive from you, the more resources we can dedicate to filling your positions and the greater the chances are of us filling them.

RETAINED SEARCHIn the event that we can work on a retained search basis, our consultants are able to offer you a preferential fee structure. In order to do this we set up a retainer agreement whereby we can virtually guarantee success.

With an upfront fee it secures our time and commitment. A retained search is the ultimate way to guarantee success.

The more commitment we receive from you, the more resources we can dedicate to filling your positions and the greater the chances are of us filling them.

ACCOUNT MANAGED SERVICE (AMS)Our AMS means that you will be assigned a consultant / account manager as well as a senior manager or business development manager to your account. We will set up a weekly or bi-weekly review meeting to ensure the account is working to deadlines and delivering on all of our requirements working in true partnership with the client.

Having regular formal meetings and working as a true partner typically allows us to work much more closely with a client which in turn allows us to increase our level of commitment thus increasing success levels.

PRIORITY RECRUITMENT TIMETABLE (PRT)PRT allows us to place priority on a particular vacancy in the knowledge that you’re working in partnership with us to achieve a common goal. There is no additional cost, what we would however need from you would be a heightened level of commitment which allows us to justify putting some of our current requirements on hold to give your vacancy an increased level of commitment.

We would need to agree the expected dates for candidate submission, feedback, 1st and 2nd stage interviews, as well as offer dates. Once we have a timetable to work to, we can put our entire focus on delivering candidates within the timescales agreed in the knowledge that you are committed to hire.

Are roles prioritised and filled with the best talent?Retained roles are prioritized and we guarantee exclusivity of any candidate for your vacancy. While 25% of the recruitment fee is payable upfront, full payment is conditional on our successful recruitment of the role to the agreed deadline. Note; this is not how our competitors work. They will request two-thirds by the time they’ve provided a shortlist.

Why should a client pay a retainer?As our services are retained, we will invest considerable dedicated resource to each assignment.The retained fee not only ensures our full commitment to the assignment, conversely it also demonstrates a commitment from our clients to working with us. When delivering on a vacancy using true search and selection techniques, we incur a significant direct cost when a team working on just one client assignment which obviously impacts on our ability to deliver on other customer requirements. A retainer shows commitment by the client to the upfront investment made to allow us to prioritize and complete a full search process to a far greater degree than if working on an exclusive basis alone. How will we know what progress is being made?A retained assignment ensures accountability. We document every conversation with every individual we contact and provide regular updates and detailed reports to our clients. This can also provide invaluable market information. What happens if you can't find anybody?In some cases if the role is very difficult to fill then the research can take longer, and in rare cases we may have to re-evaluate the specification in order to attract the right candidate.

This would only be done once we have demonstrated that we have exhausted the candidate marketplace via a detailed report on the research so far. The feedback is used to assist the client to re-evaluate their requirement and possibly to examine why the position is not appealing to any potential ideal candidate. However, VMR Consultants have never have failed to deliver a shortlist.
