About Us

Chancellor Message
Business Education imparts knowledge, skills and attitudesrequired for business managers. Business skills are essential forbudding managers, as these skills enable repeated testing andpractice for ensuring success. Every skill, with practice, becomes ahandy tool for faster decision making. This happens whenrepeated skill training and usage helps with storing the routinesin subconscious memory. The ease of skill application byexperienced managers is mainly due to repeated practice andexperience. VIT Business School imparts prospective managerswith business skills that help them in their careers. VITBS studentsget ample opportunities for honing business skills in thecurriculum and through extracurricular activities. The VITbusiness school education is in tune with the Skill India initiativeof the Government of India, which focuses on increasingemployability quotient and consequently developing employablemanagers. While government efforts are targeted at lower orderemployability skills, VIT Business School targets the higher orderskills that help in management. Business schools’ excellence depends on the extent of interactionstudents have with industries, the extent of exposure to theoutside business world and the depth of learning taking place inthe campus. The opportunities given to students to nurture theircreativity, organizing skills and application of the concepts forreal world scenario are also important for the progress of anybusiness school. Application of digital tools, cross borderexperience with multi ethnic groups and practical experience ofentrepreneurial skills are also critical.
I am glad that, VIT Business School is moving ahead in the rightdirection in reaching the pinnacle in all these areas. Activemanagement student clubs, conduct of continuous co &extracurricular competitions, simulation exercises, case analysis,outbound training sessions with social interactions are theintegral part of VITBS. What shape ‘Skill India’ would takes in the hands of its ownpeople, its own citizens-educators, students and the entirecommunity. It seems to be a good initiative – providing skills topeople, especially because India is one of the few countries in theworld the world whose working age population will be very high,few years down the line, going by its ever-increasing growth ofpopulation, as per the World Bank.A peak time has approached to improve the physical and mentaldevelopment of the youths of the country by inculcating intothem various skills so that none of them remains unemployedand the country’s unemployment problem also gets reduced. It istime to open up avenues by which the youth acceptsresponsibility and no one remains idle because an idle youth is aburden to the economy. VITBS forwards its arm in joining theSKILL INDIA mission by building business managers, helping inavailing jobs to the student as part of the campus placementprocess and encouraging students to be entrepreneurs.
