The VISTAFLEX C range is the ideal solution for wide web, long repeat
flexo printing. Equipped with 8 or 10 color decks and capable of print
repeats up to 1250 mm (49") The maximum web width for the CL range
is 1650 mm (65") and 2200 mm (86.5") inches for the CX.
The VISTAFLEX complements the conventional side-loading sleeve press
concept and takes it to a new level by frontal loading of sleeved mandrels
with the VISTA-PORT.
VISTA-PORT is the innovative robot handling system of the VISTAFLEX C.
Plate cylinder mandrels and sleeves as well as anilox rolls or anilox sleeves
are exchanged fully automatically in the fastest and safest way during job
change-overs.

The color deck design with identical cylinder bearings on the operator and drive
sides of the press is ideal for highest machine speeds.
Unchallenged by the weight of sleeves and mandrels, VISTA-PORT enables
fastest cylinder change-overs as well as the use of large diameter mandrels
on which the plate sleeves are mounted directly, without the need for bridge
sleeves/adapters.
Complemented by an unmatched rigid printing section design, VISTAFLEX C

Der VISTA-PORT serves two basic functions:
1. Fast change-over of anilox rolls and plate cylinders
as well as sleeves in the press.
2. Pre-sorting of the sleeved anilox rolls and plate
cylinders in the integrated cylinder storage system
according to the order sequence.
The press operator programs the order sequence,
VISTA-PORT automatically organizes the operational
sequence for the automated job change-over.

Automated job change-over fast and safe: VISTA-PORT
The VISTA-PORT robot runs are optimized for shaft
position, time and travel in order to minimize machine
downtime during job change-overs.
Sleeve mounting is also done in a simple and ergo-
nomic way in the VISTA-PORT system. The plate
cylinder mandrels are presented cantilevered in a
special sleeve change station.
As fast as possible back in production – that's our
goal.

From a safe, floor-level position, the press operator
changes the sleeves from special transport carts
into the VISTA-PORT system. The no longer needed
sleeves are removed and the sleeves for the new job
are mounted onto the base mandrels aided by air
cushion technology.
The VISTAFLEX is worldwide the only printing press
that allows the combination of plate sleeve techno-
logy and solid anilox rolls. Solid anilox rolls are
preferred for their rigidity and lower cost.

What makes the VISTAFLEX really unique is its integration in the pro-
duction planning process of your printing plant. You enter the order,
the VISTA-PORT computer then recommends the best position of
your new order in the existing order sequence, observing the guideline
of minimized make-ready times and cost.
If multiple VISTAFLEX presses are installed in your production plant,
the linked VISTA-PORTS will optimize order assignment to the available
machine capacities.
Of course, at any time, the operator can make manual adjustments in

As an alternative to the integrated VISTA-PORT cylinder storage system,
special sleeve change carts can be supplied as basic modules of the
VISTAFLEX machine configuration.
The operator loads the plate-cylinder and anilox mandrels for each order
onto individual transport carts equipped with sleeve change units and
then mounts the corresponding sleeves in the cart.
This transport cart, carrying the prepared mandrels for the next order,
is then positioned in front of the color decks.
The VISTA-PORT robot system automatically changes the plate cylinders
and anilox rolls in the VISTAFLEX printing section.

Based on our experience gained from the construction of several hundred
side-loading sleeve presses, we understand that these systems have
limitations at widths of over 1,5 m (59") and cylinder circumferences
of more than 1,2 m (47") due to the pure dimensions and resulting
weights.
This is where the VISTAFLEX concept comes in. The VISTA-PORT,
specified for heavy loads, high lifting and fast robot speed and
acceleration, can also handle very wide cylinders and sleeves for
long repeat flexo printing.
The VISTAFLEX color decks are symmetrical and the consoles are in-
stalled in a satellite arrangement around the CI drum. This gives good
deck access with view of the web on the CI drum as well as space for
generously dimensioned between-color dryers.

Thanks to the most rigid, symmetrical design of the color decks,
the printing section construction ensures excellent print quality
at production speeds of up to 800 m/min (2600 ft/min) The high
speed capability is further enhanced by a plate carrier assembly
without the need for additional bridge sleeves/adapters.
Any desired print repeat can be printed with the suitable plate
mandrel diameter plus directly mounted sleeve.

VISTAFLEX
One of our development goals was to make routine
maintenance and cleaning of machine components
as easy as possible.
The nip roller before the first color deck is designed as
a sleeve system. From a safe position in the printing unit,
the operator can simply remove the nip roll sleeve through
the side of the press and exchange it.
The nozzles of the between-color drying system can be
easily removed from the printing unit for cleaning by pulling
them out from the operator side.
These are only two examples of the well-thought-out,
easy-to-maintain VISTAFLEX concept.
