The intention is not only the Job training or lectures to the students by the experts form industry, but also include the industrialist cooperation right form the planning stage to the placement stage. The institution is willing to develop the curriculum for the courses and revise it on a regular basis based on the changing needs of the industry. Thus keeping the course according to industries man power / skills requirement will allow us to maintain the proper academic balance. Department of textile technology has arranged an industrial visit to Sangola, Ichalkarnaji
and Kolhapur for B.Tech. students, on dated 23rd

Jan.2016. This visit is mainly
organized to communicate the industry with our students, and also the new emerging
trends in this field. Regarding this we have visited Fabtech industry situated at Sangola
with around 29 students. Here we have a discussion with Mr. SamadhanWalake (HR)
regarding industry expectation from the institute. Also here we have performed academic
practical’s. Also we have visited DKTES TEI, Ichalkaranji which is well known institute
in Textile technology. Here our students got the carrier guidance and we have seen
different laboratories.

Visit to CEO Nonwoven, Hatkanangale- Kolhapur
For seeking new approach in nonwovens we have visited DKTE, COE Nonwoven, Hatkanangale-Kolhapur which is one of the most
successful projects of central government. Here we got the technical guidance by Mr. Aniket Bhute who is Asst. Director of the COE.
Then we have visited Mahalaxmi Exports weaving industry situated near to Kolhapur. Here also we have conducted some academic
practical’s and students discussed with technical staff for practically problem facing in industry.

Total 29 students participated in the industrial visit and were very enthusiastic while attending the all units. They interacted with the
industrial experts and cleared their doubts. All the students gave positive feedback at the end of this visit. Prof. R. P. Sawant, Mr. S.
S. Patil, Mr. M. M. Golegaonkar accompanied the students and coordinated well for making this industrial visit a grand success.

Dr. L . M. Waghmare felicitated the chairman Dr. JVL Venktesh discussing the industries issues
Dr. V. B. Tungikar, Head of the department, elaborated the objective behind the meeting. He thanked all the members for
their continuous support and guidance towards improvements of the department in terms of industry interaction, implant
training, industrial projects. He also thanked Mr. D. N. Dharurkar for his support to conduct the meeting at Aurangabad.
Hon. Director Dr. L. M. Waghmare, acknowledged the help form industry advisory panel members in the previous year and
highlighted the expectations from members to improve academics of the department..
Dr. V. M. Nandedkar, briefed the members about different activities carried out in the department in 2015 and forthcoming
activities through power point presentation. He also presented the draft scheme of syllabus of TY (Prod) and B.Tech (Prod)
which is to implemented form academic year 2016-17. The members expressed their views/suggestions on the scheme; few
of them are listed below.
1. Mr. Shiradkar and Mr. Bhogle queried about lean manufacturing in the curriculum. They also suggested to take the
students project in the area of lean manufacturing in industries.
2. Mr. Bhattacharya and Mr. Pawar advised to include the non-conventional energy (especially solar energy) as part of
some course in the curriculum, which may include design/manufacturing of components, like PV cells, of energy
system. They have also suggested to focus on environmental issues like pollution as these are gaining importance now a
days.
3. Mr. Bhogle enquired about the reason of inclusion of fluid mechanics, mass transfer courses in the proposed scheme.
Faculty members justified the inclusion of courses. He further suggested to consider inclusion of online quality
measurement tools, ERP, data acquisition tools in appropriate courses in the curriculum.
4. Mr. Pawar explained the importance of automation (selective automation) in industries and suggested to consider it in
the curriculum.
5. Dr. Pawan kumar Sharma suggested to add rapid prototyping, industrial engineering, power plant engineering in the
curriculum at appropriate level.
All the members also expressed their views on quality of final year projects to meet the industry requirements.
The modified PEOs of the programme were prepared as per suggestions received from industry personnel and panel
members earlier. Theses PEOs were presented before the panel members which they approved after discussion.
After the discussion on the proposed scheme, the draft vision statements of the department were presented before the
members for their suggestions. After brainstorming and subsequent discussion the vision statement of the department is
finalized as, “Provide an environment for quality education, pro-industry research and innovation with industry
partnership to meet global standards with the sense of “Make in India” philosophy”.

student projects, internship, skill sets development and possibility of training industry personnel at SGGS Nanded. The

Indo Count Industries Ltd. is a textile industry located in Kagal MIDC, district Kolhapur in the Indian state of
Maharashtra. This textile industry completed all bleaching, dyeing, printing and finishing of material using the latest technologies and processes. Indo Count produces 14,000 tons of combed cotton yarn per year. Indo Count Source the best cotton from India and around the globe and use state-of-the-art equipment and processes in their three spinning plants. Indo Count has 80,016 spindles at Kolhapur, Maharashtra.
The 44 students from Third Year Instrumentation Engineering Department along with three faculty members were visited Indo Count Industries Ltd. Plot No- T3, MIDC, Kagal, Kolhapur on 11th September, 2016. The visit was started with warm welcome by Indo Count Industries Ltd., Kolhapur. After that the students are divided into two different groups (22 students each) for the sake of convenience leaded by one faculty member. This activity was coordinated by Mr. Kale, Assistant Engineer, Indo Count Kolhapur & Mr. Mugtekar, Assistant Engineer, Indo Count, Kolhapur. The visit was concluded with photo session and vote of thanks given by one of the faculty member.

Outcome of visit- Every student personally visited different sections of Industry and understood the instrumentation used in textile industry, working principle of various instruments used like-
Heat Exchanger, Drum Steam Heaters, different types of dryers, weaving, spinning machines, programmable logic controllers used etc. This visit helped students to understand various aspects of Instrumentation in manufacturing industries.

Kolhapur Zilla Sahakari Dudh Utpadak Sangh Ltd.well known with its popular brand ‘Gokul‘ is an Operation Flood cooperative dairy project established on 16th March, 1963. Since then achieved many land marks in Milk Procurement, Extension, Animal Health, Breeding, Milk Processing, Product making and Marketing. At present Gokul has modern 7 Lakh Liters/day capacity dairy plant with 4 owned and 1 hired chilling centers having 4.25 Lakh Liters/day milk handling capacity with modern Packing Unit at Navi Mumbai. For milk production enhancement in milk shed gokul has presently 41 Mobile veterinary routes, 430 Cluster and 17 static A. I. Centers, A state of the art new 300 MT/day capacity Cattle Feed Plant with popular ‘Mahalaxmi’ brand is operational at Kagal-Hatkanangale Five Star MIDC. The old cattle feed plant with 200 MT/day capacity plant is simultaneously operational.

The Industry Visit, Industry Institute Meet and National Workshop
Silvassa (Dadra & Nagar Haveli) 13-18 October 2016
Department of textile technology had organized a multi activities tour at Silvassa during 13-18 October 2016. The activities were
Industry visit (14&15 October 2016), Industry institute meet (15 October 2016), SEAA Silvassa chapter inauguration (15
October 2016), and national workshop on Recent trends in the MMF Industry (16 October 2016) and expert lectures (14 & 16th
October 2016) . The Silvassa tour was sponsored by TEQIPII and permitted by Director Dr L M Waghmare. Dr R N Joshi (Head
Textile dept) was the Event Coordinator and Dr P G Solankar was the Coordinator for industry visit. Prof Suraj Patil & Mr M M
Golegaonkar were shared the different responsibilities during tour. The student coordinators were Shruti Ghadge, Vaishnavi Butley,
Ganesh Khandekar & Priti Sansare. Total 37 students of second and third year B Tech and M Tech students were participants in all
activities.

We all assembled at the college at 4.30 am on 13th
October and left the college premises in a college bus. We reached Trimbakeshwar
near about 10.00 pm and we stayed there at hotel Dhruva Palace which was already booked as per schedule. That was first day of
journey.
On next day i.e. on 14th
October, we started our journey towards Tarapur for industry visit. We reached their near about 11.00 am and
firstly went to the Bombay Rayon Fashion Limited (BRFL) which is a Processing industry located in Tarapur and receive the
visitors’ I-cards. First of all we all did our lunch at BRFL which was provided by the industry itself and then proceeds towards for
gaining the details about industry and its manufacturing processes. Daily production of BRFL is near about 5 lakh ton and whose
Managing Director is Mr. Prashant Agrawal. There are several processing departments like Grey Department, Printing Department,
Dyeing Department in which processing such as bleaching, scouring, singeing, etc. were carried out by using different machines’
parameters. Visit to this industry was fruitful since students gave feedback; it was very informative with latest technological
developments in the industry. After that we visited the weaving unit of BRFL Tarapur. In this industry, our Alumni Mr. Amar
Chilkha (AGM) and Mr Gowardhan Unde (Sr. Manager) helped us a lot. They gave us all necessary details about the industry. Near
about 5.30 pm we left the Tarapur and started our journey to Silvassa. We reached at Silvassa at 10.00 pm and our stay in Silvassa
was at Hotel Excellency. That was our second day of tour which was very informative for all of us.

On third day i.e. on 15th
October, we all became ready on given time i.e on 9.00 am and done our breakfast at Hotel Simply South.
After that we all visited the synthetic plant named as Sanathan Textiles located in Silvassa. We all learnt about the working of melt
spinning line and also noted down the processing parameters which is required for spinning in that plant. Mr. Chetan Chopkar
(Textile alumnus 1995) who is working as a Vice President has helped for permission & visit.
After that we all had lunch at Hotel and moved towards the Hotel Excellency. On the same day there were an Industry Institute meet
and SEAA Silvassa Chapter Inauguration Program was already scheduled at Hotel Excellency, therefore we all have started the
necessary preparations and arrangements required for the program.
Program was started at 4.00 pm with the speeches and the old memories of our Alumni’s. After that SEAA Silvassa Chapter was
inaugurated by Honorable Director Dr. L. M. Waghmare, Dr. Holambe, Dr. Arun Patil sir, Mr. Shailesh Deshpande sir and Head of
Department Dr. R. N. Joshi. After the SEAA Silvassa Chapter Inauguration, it was a time to start the Alumni Meet Program which is
the most awaited program for all of our Alumni and it was the most special program for the alumni of 1992 batch because it was their
Silver Jubilee.

Thus Program started with the Lamp Lightening Ceremony and after that speeches and felicitations of the all alumni were started
form 1991 batch to 2016 batch. All of them shared their college life moments and their past experiences which helped us a lot in
showing the correct path in our future. Many of them on high posts in their respective industries like Sr. Manager, General Manager,
Vice President etc. So, it was a really a great opportunity to listen them and to learn something. When all speeches and felicitations
were ended, there was one our cultural program was arranged by students for Alumni. Then all the Alumni, Faculty and students
Proceeded towards the dinner and we all interacted with our Alumni during the same time. It was really an amazing time. Such that
our third day was really an awesome and unforgettable day for us.
PreetiBhojan after Industry Institute Meet
We all get lot of information about from the workshop. After that
we all proceeded towards the lunch and at the same time Mr.
Ashok Swami, Mr. Shailesh Deshpande, Mr. Arvind Pahurkar,
Mr. Prakash Nilawar, Mr. B Basu and Mr. Mardikar guided the
students during round table discussion. At evening time, Mr.
Ashok Swami (1991 textile alumnus) sponsored the dinner to all
students and staff. It was really a memorable dinner with Swami
sir and with his family. Our fifth day of tour was the most
enjoyable day for all of us. On 17th
October we left the Hotel
Excellency as well as Sivassa near about 5.00 am and started the
journey towards Nanded via Saputara and reached the college
premises at 7.30 am in the morning.

ISRO Ahmedabad, Masibus Automation & Instrumentation and Amtech Electronics India Ltd.

October, 2016
We reached ISRO Ahmedabad at 2:00 pm on 14th
October 2016. We were greeted by the officials at the main gate. There we
headed towards the exhibition of their organization. There we were shown a short film on journey of SAC Ahmedabad. After that
we were allotted two volunteers to explain all the recent technology and research under their name. There we saw all their exhibits
like PSLV, MSLV and many other missile technology of the country. There we played an interactive game which was based on
research and development under ISRO.
Space Applications Centre (SAC), is a major research and development centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation
(ISRO). It plays a key role in realizing vision and mission of ISRO. Located at Ahmedabad, SAC is spread across two campuses
having multi-disciplinary activities. The core competence of the centre lies in development of space borne and air borne
instruments/payloads and their applications for national development and societal benefits. These applications are in diverse areas
and primarily meet the communication, navigation and remote sensing needs of the country. Besides these, the centre also
contributes significantly in scientific and planetary missions of ISRO like Chandrayan-1, Mars Orbiter Mission etc.

The communication transponders developed at this centre for Indian National Satellite (INSAT) and Geo Synchronous Satellite
(GSAT) series of satellites are used by government and private sector for VSAT, DTH, internet, broadcasting, telephony etc. These
