ÅF CONTRIBUTES WITH SIMULATION ENGINEERING
— Götaälvbron, a steel bridge with concrete deck, was built
in Gothenburg 1939. Main part of the steel structure is a
digital twin. The structure is represented by simulation
models (FEM) and fed with real input data measured
from it´s physical counterpart.
— ÅF has, among other things, contributed with state of the
art simulation engineering related to validation and
calibration of the digital twins’ model. The result is a
simulation model that predicts structural damage,
remaining service life and optimize the usage of the
bridge.

Scandinavia, has digital twins of their turbine units 1, 3 and 4. They
are represented by simulation models connected to the physical
units and fed with real input data.
— ÅF has contributed with state of the art simulation engineering
related to validation and calibration of the digital twins’ models. The
result is a simulation model that predicts faults and optimizes
electric power production.
