Police Department

THANK YOU

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Village of Wrightstown residents for the outpouring of continued support of your Wrightstown Police Department (WPD). We are continually approached by the people we serve thanking us for our service, hav-ing “our six,” kids bringing in drawings and/or making us treats, and the thumbs up when people are driving past us. Folks, we do not do our jobs for thanks and/or recognition. We do it because we have a genuine care and concern for our community. We want, and have earned, your respect through our actions and professionalism.

Recently I received a card, with a news article from our local newspaper, from Representative Shae Sortwell. The article talked of the support of our community and the Village Board. He was impressed with how our community is responding to the recent at-tacks on law enforcement. It just goes to show the quality of people who live in our Village. Thank you Representative Sortwell and thank you citizens of the Village of Wrightstown.

Greg Deike Wrightstown Police Chief

Fire Department Open House

September 27th 11:00am-1:30pm

This year "Open House" will be changed due to COVID-19. We will not be able to host the usual event. The event will be a "Drive Through" Cookout Fundraiser on Sunday September 27th. We will have burgers, brats, and hotdogs from the grill, they will be prepackaged for pickup via "Drive Through" the station. Cookout will be ready to pick up starting at 11am until 1:30pm.

Again this year the Fire Department will be holding our annual "Deer Hunt Booyah Sale" on Saturday, November 14th start-ing at 10:00am, to stock up your supply for Deer Camp 2020. Booyah supply will be first come/first serve, set up as drive through same as last year; bring a container and get in line early and help us "Sell Out" again.

It’s "Fall" time so change batteries in your smoke and CO de-tectors. Make sure your vents to the outside are clear of fall de-bris, leaves and foliage before snow covers and blocks them.

Mike Schampers Wrightstown Fire Chief

Public Works Reminders

Sump Pump Discharge Reminder – From November 1st to March 31st every homeowner who has a sump pump discharge through a curb-cut or a hose that dis-charges directly to the curb & gutter will have to redirect the discharge elsewhere on the homeowner’s property.

Seasonal Reminder For your protection, please remove all outside garden hoses and shut off your outside water taps to prevent freezing. It’s a good practice to periodically check your exterior and interior water lines and fixtures to ensure no leaks are taking place. Any water losses on your prop-erty are your responsibility and will be billed accordingly, no adjustments will be considered.

If you rented a seasonal deduct meter, please don’t forget to return the meter back to the Water Utility department.

Curbside Chipping/Yard Waste Disposal The last day for curbside branch chipping is November 5th. The Village’s Yard Waste/Compost Site located at 409 Van Dyke St. will remain open for disposal of grass clippings, leaves, garden waste as well as branches/brush (no larger than 4” diameter) until weather per-mits. Please dispose of waste in proper bins as well as following the standard guidelines. Stumps/roots, fire wood, stones, dirt are not ac-cepted. If using plastic bags or bins to transport waste, please empty and properly dispose of the bags.

The village is not able to offer curbside pickup of leaves but watch in upcoming newsletters for curbside Christmas tree pick up dates.

Fall Waste & Recycling - Utilize the Yard Waste: Autumn leaves provide colorful scenic views. Mulching and composting your fallen leaves is a terrific way to recycle and create a rich garden soil. Learn more about composting online or at the local library. Village residents can also drop off leaves at the Village Compost Site. These leaves are then mulched and spread onto a local field which provides excellent nutrients to the soil for the following crop sea-son.

Fact: Did you know that leaves are a leading contributor of phosphorus in our waters. Properly cleaning up your yard in the Fall will help keep our local waters and storm drains clean.

Municipal Court Due to the ongoing uncertainty of the COVID-19 Pandemic and consistent with the spirit of the Wisconsin Supreme Court's order direct-ing that courts use technology instead of holding in-person court appearances, Wrightstown Municipal Court is currently held by zoom vid-eoconferencing. Proceedings remain open to the public and at the time of the next court session, you can find a link to join us on the Vil-lage’s Website. Navigate to Departments and under Municipal Court go to the Municipal Court Procedures page, scroll down to Next Adult Court Date and click on the link provided.

We will soon begin our transition to holding a blended session of videoconferencing and in-person appearances. We still highly encour-age all individuals, especially vulnerable populations, to appear by videoconference or to plea by mail, email, fax, or drop box located at the Village Hall. Be sure to watch for updates on our reopening date of in-person appearances on the Village Website and Facebook. Feel free to join a court session by videoconferencing.
