2.12 How does IQAC Contribute/Monitor/Evaluate the Teaching & Learning processes :
The IQAC Team consists of Representatives from every department, senior faculty member as Departmental IQAC Coordinator. The Team meets once in a week i.e. Every Monday to discuss the activities, programmes or events Quality Enhancement.
The IQAC organised various FDPs / Workshops to improve Teaching and Learning Practices viz:
FDP on Realism in Class room in association with TASK 3 day workshop in Teaching Effectiveness in association with IUCEEE wherein 40
faculty members have been participated and 50% of the fees was sponsored by the Institution
60 faculty members have participated in a 3 day International Conference on Transformations in Engineering Education organised by IUCEE during 6-8 January, 2017
A workshop on Teaching Skills have been organized during 18-19 May, 2017. Mr. Rajesh Pershad and Mrs. Nidhi Anand were the Key Resource Persons
A 6 day FDP was organised for 35 faculty members by Learning Curve Management Services during
The Best Practice that was adopted in all the departments is – the faculty members who participated or attended training programme need to re-train all the other faculty members by taking a session; submitting a report of the same and sharing the resources.
IQAC will monitor the preparation of Lesson Plan in which the Teaching Material is prepared much in advance with Teaching Methodologies, Assessment Plan, Its relevance to Course Outcome and Level of Blooms’ Taxonomy is prepared.
The performance of the faculty members is assessed through the Implementation of Teaching
Sphoorthy Engineering College AQAR 2016-17 Page 21
Plan, Attainment and Feedback about faculty members teaching is collected from the students by HOD ( Manual Feedback) and Head of the Institution ( Online) feedback and thus further assessed.
The faculty members who scored best feedback will be appreciated and considered for awarding Best Teacher Award during Annual Day Celebrations. The faculty members will unsatisfactory feedback is counselled to take corrective action.
The IQAC also collects result analysis and the faculty members who scored best results in the respective subjects are appreciated and considered for awarding Best Teacher Award. An explanation will be taken from the faculty members who scored low results.
