INCLUDING SPE EUROPEC

The SPE EUROPEC programme ran parallel to the Vienna 2016 programme. This collaboration created a truly multi-disciplinary event, with a wide diversity of geoscience and reservoir/petroleum

engineering contributions.

The 78th EAGE Conference & Exhibition was held in Vienna, Austria from 30 May - 2 June 2016. Once again, the annual event brought together professionals, academia and industry to share their experiences, learn from one another and explore new developments and technologies. Following the positive feedback, we would like to present this report, containing the event highlights and relevant statistics. We would like to thank everyone who participated for making the event a success, and we hope to see you at Paris 2017 (12-15 June 2017).

Technical programmeThe three day technical programme encompassed a variety of topics. In over 900 presentations and over 360 e-Poster presentations the present-ers shared their insights, knowledge, and new techniques. We received positive feedback from participants on the quality of the technical pro-gramme which was offered at Vienna 2016.

Student programmeEAGE highly values the participation and input of students, and provides them with the opportunity to gain knowledge, skills and contacts to pur-sue a career in the geosciences and engineering industry. The student programme at Vienna, aimed at achieving these goals, was a great suc-cess. The activities, amongst which special poster presentations and a networking café, were well attended and the students proved to be very active and engaging on the exhibition floor.

Exhibition ActivitiesInternational Prospect CentreThis year marked the third International Prospect Centre. 14 participants, including licensing agencies and National Oil Companies from around the world promoted their exploration and investment opportunities, in-formed the industry on current and new exploration activities and an-nounced licensing rounds.

Icebreaker receptionOn Monday evening, the grand opening of the exhibition started off the event in a festive manner. Participants were able to visit the exhibition floor and network in an informal setting, whilst enjoying delicious food and drinks.

Exhibition Services Delegates were able to start their day at the exhibition with our Daily Breakfast service. During the day, they could enjoy a quality coffee at one of the coffee plazas while engaging with peers, or making use of the free wifi. The perfect closure of the day was offered by the Daily Afternoon Drinks.
