Idea description•Videos have become one of the most widely used means of learning.•Universities and companies uses video as a mode of training i.e. e-learning materials, video ILT’s, online recorded classes.•Language plays as a vital constraint for providing education across the globe.•A transcript in known language provides better understanding of the content of the video to the viewer.•It removes the dependency on coping up with the speaker’s accent and his pace of speech.•Now, a Chinese student can understand a video in English by the means of transcripts or sub-titles in Chinese.

THE EMPLOYERThe owner or creator of the video like university or companies.Will create jobs by uploading the video and requesting for transcripts in required languages.The Employer will pay the micro-workers for the job.

Skilled micro-workers will be language experts. They will be have good command over a particular language.They will be responsible for the verification of the transcript generated by semi-skilled worker.Semi-skilled micro worker will have working knowledge of one or two language. Micro-workers register on the app.Provides languages known details.For being a language expert, he or she needs to clear a test in that language and provide qualification details as a support evidence.Once employer uploads the video, a task is created and assigned to micro worker.He or receives an alert on mobile and then sees the video and create the transcript in required language on the go.The task gets assigned to language expert which does the verification and the task gets closed.Now, the transcripts are ready for download.

Working of the Application

Employer registers on the app.Employer selects the payment package and makes the payment.For example, in package 1, employer can upload up to 50 hours of video in a month and will need to pay 200$ per month.After payment, employer uploads the video and provide the language requirements.The employer can mention more than one language requirement.Once, the transcripts are ready, the employer will receive an alert and can then download the videos along with the transcript.

Who will PAY?

• The employer like universities who need to have transcripts in multiple language will pay on monthly basis.

• Multiple package options available based on the length of video. For example:

Videos up to 50 hours per month – cost 200$/ month

Videos up to 100 hours per month – cost 350$/ monthVideos up to 200 hours per month – cost 700$/ monthVideos more than 200 hours per month – cost 800$/

month• Additional transcripts in other language will cost 10$

each. The above package will include up to 2 transcripts in different language.

How will Micro-workers EARN?

• Semi-skilled micro worker receives payment based on the length of videos i.e. 2$ per hour on monthly basis.

e.g.: For 4 hour duration video, micro-worker earns 8$.

• Skilled micro worker i.e. language expert will receive a payment of 1$ per hour plus a fixed allowance of 20$ per month.

e.g.: for 100 hour duration of video in a month, he earns 100$ plus 20$ fixed allowance.

Employer selects the package. Suppose employer pays 200$ for 50 hours i.e. package 1.Package is selected for a month time duration.If required, package can be change as per requirement by paying the differences.

Service provides acts as interface.Are responsible for operations of app server.For 50 hours of video, 100$ goes to semi-skilled and 70$ goes to skilled worker.As employer pays 200$, net income will be 200$ - (100$ + 70$) = 30$.It’s a sure win-win situation for all.

Micro workers receive payment from service provider on monthly basis.For 50 hours of video, semi-skilled micro worker will earn 100$ (50 hours * 2$).For 50 hours of video, skilled micro worker will earn 70$ [(50 hours * 1$) + 20$ allowance]

Transcripts are manually checked by the language expert to maintain 100 percent accuracy.
