People with disabilities (PWD) in Latin America:
• There are approx. 90 million PWD in the region.
• 70-80% of children with disabilities do not have access to education.
• 70% of PWDs in Latin America are unemployed.
Youth in Latin America
• Youth unemployment rates have increased by 23% (from 1995 to 2005).
• In some Caribbean countries, youth unemployment triples adult unemployment, reaching as high as 56% in Dominica.
• Increased violence, with youth disproportionately represented in this trend, both as victims and as perpetrators

Established in 1997 to promote private and public sector participation in projects that reflect the principal goals of the OAS
The mission of the Trust is to execute capacity building programs, both for individuals and organizations
