Srilankan presidentMaithripala Srisena’s maidenvisit to India first after assumingoffice is a great breakthroughand is very significant inrelationship. When Srisena’sparty swept to power,Rajapaksha seems tried todislodge him, India and USAcame to his rescue to make himtake over the saddle. It marksan end of MahindraRajapaksha’s cold war withIndia and many fronts.
While Rajapaksha took thecredit of ending the civil warby defeating LTTE militarily, hefailed miserably on post warreconciliation and rehabilitationof Srilankan Tamils.
It earned the wrath of UNHuman Rights conventionassembled at Geneva askingSrilanka to try the war crimesand pressurized to offer Tamilsin the island equal rights byimplementing the 13th
amendment.
Now, with the leadershipchange, both the countries canadopt a positive fresh approachand direction in bilateral ties. The signing of Civil Nuclearcooperative Agreement (C N A)is Srilanka’s first nuclearagreement with any othercountry which is laudable. It isa clear demonstration of mutualfaith, trust and cooperation. They also agreed to expanddefence and strategiccooperation along with Indiaand Maldives.
The civil nuclear agreementwould facilitate nuclearcooperation, transfer andexchange of knowledge, sharing of resources andtraining of personnel in thepeaceful usage of nuclearenergy. Both the Governmentsalso inked three important pactson agricultural cooperation, amemorandum of understandingof Nalanda University and anagreement on culturalcooperation. Agreement hasalso been reached between thetwo countries for resumptionof more air and ship trafficservices which really boost thelink between the people andtourism.
With regard to the burningissue of fishermen which ishanging fire for decades, it hasbeen decided that theassociations of both countriesshould start meaningful

dialogue since it genuinelyaffects the livelihood ofpeople of both countries. Theyagreed to find for a constructiveand humanitarian approach. With respect to devolution ofpowers to the northern andeastern provinces, all aspects ofbilateral importance werediscussed threadbare for aquick solution, since Indiaassured all sorts of assistance.
The security concern withthe docking of Chinesesubmarines in the Colomboharbour were discussed. PrimeMinister Modi’s statesmanshipin extending invitationimmediately to Srisena afterassuming power to visit Indiasince India has a huge influencein Sri Lanka’s political, economic, social and culturallinks.
Overall, it is a good auguryand a great success for Indiato ink pact on Civil NuclearCooperation since Colombowas exploring an agreementwith Pakistan which isdetrimental to India.
The ensuing Indian PrimeMinister’s visit in March is thefirst one in the last quartercentury which is incredible.
It will definitely pave theway to boost the ties of boththe countries to a great extentto get further fillip andconsolidation.
It is the bounden duty ofNew Delhi should address andput pressure on the Sri Lankangovernment to sort out the mostburning issue of ethnicreconciliation and powersharing with Tamils andfishermen issue.
This will be central tomaintain new found confidenceand hope of a broken people forthe overall development of SriLanka in all fields and tomaintain regional amity andpeaceful coexistence.

Our smile is the first thingpeople notice about us. Wouldyou not want to have sparklingwhite teeth in order to flash thatsmile with more confidence? We introduce the best and latestmethod of teeth whitening bymeans of LASER DENTISTRY.After whitening toothpastes,home-bleaching and in-officebleaching techniques, laserteeth whitening is considered tobe the most advanced methodof getting lighter shades ofteeth.
Whitening toothpastesmostly remove stains and bringback the actual colour of teethwhile home bleaching and inoffice conventional bleachingtechniques require multiplevisits and long-term use forclinically visible results. LASERwhitening provides botheffective and quicker resultsthan any other technique.
Why does discoloration ofteeth occur?
With increasing agelighter (whiter) colouredenamel wear exposing theyellowish dentin underneaththat. Also there are highchances of gradual staining ofteeth due to the foods we eatand drinkSmoking and othertobacco habits Some peoplenaturally have a dull shade ofteethDeposits or ‘tartar’ canalso affect the colour of teeth.
Disturbances in enameland dentin (inner side ofenamel) during tooth formationcan also lead to discolouredteeth Excessive fluoridesfrom water and other sources
cause tooth discolorationvarying from white spotsor flakes to brown brittle toothsurfaceConsumption ofdrugs like tetracycline(antibiotic), antihistamines anddrugs for high blood pressure, iron and vitamin and mineralsupplements and many otherscause tooth discolorationDamage to tooth from a fallcan cause discolouration oftooth much later after the fall
Treatment Options: Proper brushing twice dailyand regular flossingAvoidingfood and beverages which mightcause staining of teethUltrasonic cleaningDentalveneers H o m ebleaching techniquesIn-officebleaching techniquesToothcoloured fillingsLASERwhitening.
Of all these, LASERwhitening is considered to bethe latest and most effectivetreatment option for manydiscolorations. Treatmentoptions varies from one patientto another depending on thecause and extent ofdiscoloration and therefore aproper option has to be chosenafter consultation only.
Laser Whitening:Traditional teeth bleachingtechniques consume too muchtime also cause lot more side-effects to the gums. The latestLASER WHITENINGtechniques overcome these andprovide the safest andquickest teeth whitening.
Laser tooth whiteninginvolves mainly two steps; oneis cleaning the teeth in whichthe plaque and germs presentin the teeth that have a majoreffect in the whitening processare removed. Next is theapplication of a LASERactivated whitening gel. In fact, the laser enhances and makesthe whole process faster so thatit produces results in a matterof a few minutes. Often a singlevisit will get the required result.Sometimes more than onesession may be needed toachieve satisfactory result inextreme cases of toothdiscoloration.
Advantages of LaserBleaching : Time saving ;Extremely safe procedure;Excellent outcome; Immediateresults; No needle anaesthesiasince it is a painless procedure; No damage to tooth structure;Acts even against tough deeprooted stains; Chair side shortprocedure unlike homebleaching. Laser whitening canbe now done in our clinic withutmost comfort to the patientthereby making you moreconfident to wear your smile.
