Core team sindhu shanmugam Sindhu is the Founder and Director of Strategy at Studio Aum. She is a graduate of the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad specializing in Strategic Marketing , Leadership and change management. She has more than 6 years of experience in the areas of technology, services marketing, brand building and education. She has worked across geographies including China, USA, Germany and India. Sindhu has previously worked for companies like Oracle and NIIT to create innovative technologies and build new brands. She has won several awards, including the prestigious 'Young Leader Award - 2007' instituted by the ISB. She has also co-authored several business cases that have been published in prestigious International journals like 'Asian Case Research Journal' and are being taught in business schools across the globe.

Core team rajib ghosh

Rajib is the Co-founder and Director of Design at Studio Aum. He is a graduate from the National Institute of Design specializing in Communication and User Experience Design, and has more than 12 years of experience in the areas of user experience design, graphic design, brand building, advertising, corporate films and interactive media. Many of these products and services have won awards and has been featured in print and online media. Rajib has worked closely and in professional capacity with Prof. Donald A Norman (of the well known Nielsen Norman Group), the top most authority in the world of Usability and HCI. He has also co-authored a patent in the area of Voice Interaction Design with Prof. Norman. Rajib’s designs have won several awards including the Apple International Interface design award. The same design project also won the DuPont Canada Design award at the Humane Village Congress at ICSID. This project was cited and recognized for its efforts in developing a human centric design solution and was featured in several international design magazines like MacWorld and ID. He has worked extensively with teams both inside and outside India creating products and services. Rajib has previously worked for companies like Oracle. At Oracle, he was instrumental in setting up their Hyderabad Usability team and Usability Labs. For the past 6 years Rajib has also been directing the Design team at reQall Inc. creating their brand and user experiences for their award winning product reQall. The product spans across predominantly mobile touch points like Android, Blackberry, iPhone; as well as web.

Electronic Arts Electronic Arts is one of the global leaders in the gaming industry. The increased focus of the India team of EA towards mobile gaming required the team to have through understanding of mobile game usability Studio Aum was brought in to train selected members of the management, development and QA team on fundamentals of design, mobile user experience design, mobile game usability testing, visual discrimination and aesthetics. This was accomplished by carefully planning and leading several sessions spread over one month followed by several mobile game usability review sessions with the teams of games such as “Surviving High School”, “Fantasy Safari” and more.

IMI Mobile IMI Mobile Private Limited is one of the leading provides of technology platforms and mobile value-added services to operators, media companies and enterprises in 66 countries around the world with offices in Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. Studio Aum was brought in to redesign one of their key legacy products that have evolved over several years. The key challenges of this project included not just understanding and redesigning an extremely complex product with varied and distinct user groups but also to formulate and advice the company with a process that in future would help them maintain the user experience of the product in a sustainable way.

prêt à print prêt à print is a US based company that has an online service for the stationery industry that is a platform for designers, vendors and consumers to collaborate as well as perform their individual responsibility specific tasks. The complete user experience was designed from scratch keeping in mind the all the various user groups of the system. The language and metaphor of the interface was chosen based on the industry. This was one of the best designed applications in this domain when it was launched at the National Stationary Show in NY.
