A whopping 477 species of birds live in and around DTLA. A family of Cooper’s Hawks have made their nest on the radio tower across Broadway. If you squint, you can see them. Around sunset in fall and spring, thousands of Vaux’s swifts (sounds like foxes with a V) swoop and swirl across the Downtown skyline as they make their way to roost in the Chester Building chimney at the top of Fifth and Broadway. Also, northwest of Ace DTLA, you can spot a nest of Peregrine Falcons that roost at the US Bank building.
