We really need parents to take part in this survey. At present, only 6% of our parents have completed the survey. Running this survey will help our school understand parents’ and carers’ perspectives on their child’s experience at school. These include communication between parents/carers and staff, activities and practices at home and parent/carer views on the school's support of learning and behaviour. This valuable feedback will help our school make practical improvements. The survey is conducted entirely online at home or on public computers. The survey typically will take 15 minutes or less to complete and is completely confidential. The parent survey will be conducted between 27 August and 26 October. Participating in the survey is voluntary; however, your responses are very much appreciated. survey : https://nsw.tellthemfromme.com/yytj6 More information about the survey is available at: http://surveys.cese.nsw.gov.au/information- for-parents Fundraising News We hope all the dads, granddads and pas enjoyed opening their Father’s Day gifts on Sunday. What an amazing community of Grandparents, parents and friends we have at Glenorie Public School.
As I gazed around our school hall during our Grandparents Day assembly, it was hard to see an empty seat. The dedication, enthusiasm and interest our Grandparents displayed was heart-warming.
If you would like to revisit the excitement of the day, or perhaps, you were not able to attend but would like to view the Grandparents Day activities, please use the following link to a movie we created titled 'Grandparents Galore': https://www.filmpond.com/ponds/glenorieps/films/b-kps0vbl3yq
This movie is also accessible, along with additional Glenorie Public School movies, on our school website.

The Brigade has several new members who have started their Bush Fire Training. If you have been thinking about joining the brigade there is no time like the present. There is something for everyone in the RFS and there is no better way to be prepared for the fire season. Training progresses through levels of skills that you can work through at your own pace. We have 2 members who have just completed their Arduous Fire Fighting courses, definitely not for everyone but for those who wish to, it is a great opportunity to expand your skills!
We are also more than happy to talk you through what you need to do to help keep your home and family safe. We can arrange a property check onsite if that would help you.
What is your next step to keep your family, home and property safe should bush fire threaten?
1. Make a Plan and be ready to implement it.
a. When to leave?
b. Where you will go?
c. How will you get there?
d. What will you take?
2. Monitor the Fire Danger Ratings sign.
3. Keep up to date with the Fires Near Me app on your
phone.
4. Prepare your home and property
a. Gutters – cleaned regularly and fit gutter guards
b. Lawns – Keep mown and free of leaves and twigs
c. Flammables- remove wood piles and ensure gas
bottles are in a safe cleared space.
d. Remove low dry scrub from around buildings
e. Ensure your house/property number is clearly
marked so emergency vehicles can locate you.
For further information on family and property preparation go to https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/plan-and-prepare . You are welcome to call the brigade community engagement officer James Wicking 0422 168 914 or Elizabeth Whiteman 0416 201 196. You can also call the station 9652 2017 (leave a message someone will get back to you) or visit the Glenorie Station Monday evening from 8pm or Saturday afternoon from 2pm.
Just a reminder: Permits are required before your light a fire.
