(estar) (-ando / -endo) BE + VERB-ing (reading)

You’ re studying now

The teacher is speaking

The computer is working

You are not eating

It’s raining

The sun isn’t shining

My brother isn’t painting the house at the moment, maybe he is studying

My mother is working and my father is reading the newspaper

What is your mother doing right now?

Where are you sitting now?

What is your father doing?

• As you can see all the previous sentences have the same structure. They all have two verbs: TO BE and a GERUND (gerundio in Spanish- cantando, (singing) jugando (playing)…)

• In continuous tenses you always need these two verbs

• And remember you always need to have a subject in English

• Do you remember how to make a Gerund in English?

Hi everybody! I'm The Present Simple Girl.

I like habits and routines. I always do the same things and at the same time. Forexample, I always drink two glasses of milk in themorning and I usually arrive at school at twenty five past eight . I often wear jeans and T-shirts. I love pop music. I also love animals and plants. I have a beautiful garden. I live with my parents and my brother, The Present Continuous Guy. He is very different from me. He never arrives on time for lunch. He likes new clothes and fashion, and he doesn't listen to pop music. He plays hard rock in a group called "Metal Bananas" .
