NEXT air conditioners are available in Over and Under

version.

Up-flow air delivery (Over)

The air distribution is from the top of the unit directly in to

the room.

The air flow in each area is predetermined during the

design stage and it is not dependent on the actual state

of the load to be dissipated. The system is normally

applied in Comfort plants and in those plants having a

defined low/medium room thermal loads density.

Down-flow air delivery (Under)

The air distribution is from the bottom by means of the

plenum between the building floor and the raised floor.

This solution is usually applied in Hi-Tech room air

conditioning and it is most favourable when load is

uniformly distributed in all areas of the room.

INTRODUCTIONThe NEXT EVO INV air conditioners form a range of machines

featuring advanced hi-tech characteristics, designed for a

variety of applications, subject to strict requirements in terms

of control of internal environmental conditions, continuous

operation, reliability and energy saving.

The fields of application of the NEXT EVO INV air conditioners

are especially suited for the following applications:

transformer rooms etc.

meteorology labs, libraries, museums and museum

archives where perishable media is stored or controlled

contamination rooms in general

and negligible or absent latent loads (low occupancy

computer rooms), TV and photographic studios, specialist

therapeutic treatment or analysis centres in the healthcare

sector (TAC, nuclear medicine, X-rays etc.)

INVERTER SYSTEM

The compressor driven by an inverter varies the load continuously and the

regulation of the refrigerant circuit can be easily adapted, without oscillations and

transients, to the operating conditions required.

The system is highly efficient since it is supplying the energy necessary to satisfy

the required thermal load only; furthermore it is possible to supply thermal or

cooling energy even in case of overload conditions of the system. The working

range of NEXT EVO INV, in comparison to the nominal values of cooling and

thermal capacity output, varies on average from 35% to 120%.

DIRECT FREE-COOLING SYSTEM

The direct free-cooling system is an important

accessory that allows you to maximize energy

savings of air conditioning plant.

According to the set-point and to the energy-

saving logic of the software, the microprocessor

activates the free-cooling system with direct

introduction into the room of ambient air.

AN EFFICIENT ENERGY USE

One of the most important characteristics of NEXT EVO INV machines is their

high energy efficiency, both at design and at the various operating conditions

experienced during the year.

The machine are equipped with inverter driven Scroll

compressors allowing proportional control of the

cooling capacity, while the fans electric motors are

brushless type with built-in electronic commutation

system (EC).

These electric motors are ensuring high performances,

minimum energy consumption and total absence of

electromagnetic noise.

AN EFFICIENT ENERGY USE

One of the most important characteristics of NEXT EVO CW machines is

their high energy efficiency, both at design and at the various operating

conditions experienced during the year.

The fans electric motors are the brushless type with built-in electronic

commutation system (EC) which yield high energy savings during

operation in reduced air flow.

The synergy includes the air conditioners NEXT

EVO CW and the air-cooled liquid chillers series

UNICO TURBO FL.

These liquid chillers are equipped with oil-free

two stage centrifugal compressors with magnetic

levitation bearings, flooded shall and tube

The HEAT HUNTER air conditioners, with displacement

air distribution, are the air conditioning spearhead solution

for telephone exchanges, internet hotels applications

and electronic appliances high concentration rooms, for

Neither ductworks nor raised floor are necessary for the

air distribution.

HEAT HUNTER, in combination with RC Group Free-

Cooling chillers, forms the SOLUTION® patented system,

for energy saving optimization in presence of Hi-Tech

plants with variable flow.

Displacement air delivery (DL)

The air-conditioning system with displacement air delivery

is based on the principle that the air is distributed at a very

low speed, while enabling a cooling effect by convection.

The displacement system creates a cushion of cold air

at the floor level, thanks to proprietary COLDLAYER

technology, which is available for all the equipment

installed in the room, and can reach also the equipment

located in critical positions, thanks to patented AIR-RAIL®

injectors.

Every electronic equipment will “absorb” the amount of

cold required to maintain a correct temperature level

inside, through a natural convection effect.

Displacement air delivery (DL)

The air-conditioning system with

displacement air delivery is based on the

principle that the air is distributed at a very

low speed, while enabling a cooling effect by

convection.

Every electronic equipment will “absorb” the

amount of cold required to maintain a correct

temperature level inside, through a natural

convection effect. The greater the load inside

the electronic equipment, the greater this

effect.

Therefore, every electronic equipment

uses only the amount required to dissipate

its own thermal load, which is generated

by maximising the result and the energy

efficiency of the system.

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICSCOOLSIDE EVO is a precision cooling system, in split-

system type, for application in modern IT infrastructure as

telephone exchange, data bank, internet hotel and server

rooms, all characterized by high thermal loads.

COOLSIDE EVO is able to cope the high density of

thermal load in a small space, up to 24.9 kW on 0.3 m2

of floor space.

The modularity of the system together with the adaptive

logic of microprocessor control make COOLSIDE

EVO the best solution for cooling racks and the latest

generation equipment.

For installation are not required underfloor plenum, ducts

or false-ceilings; the installation foresee the insertion of

COOLSIDE EVO within the rows of racks to cool.

This allows to contrast the localized heat sources (hot

spot) tailoring the installation to the actual situation of the

plant.

Another big advantage is the modularity and scalability of

the system, characteristics that allow for quick adjustment

and economic development of plant layout, according to

the changing needs of the infrastructure.

COOLSIDE evo

The COOLSIDE EVO system is designed to serve two main “server room” architectures currently in use:

- cooling system for rows of racks (hot/cold aisle) with units size B3 / B6.

- direct cooling of the rack (closed loop) with units size B3L / B6L.

All COOLSIDE EVO units can be equipped on request with dual power supply system (network + UPS) to ensure continuity

of service even during periods of blackouts.

COOLSIDE EVO is available in direct expansion (DX) version, to be coupled to a remote air cooled (MCAI) or water cooled

(MCWI) motocondensing unit, or for supply with chilled water (CW) produced by a liquid chiller.

The direct expansion version is equipped with an inverter controlled hermetic twin-rotary or scroll compressors, which

reduces power consumption in real time adjusting to the real plant thermal load.

The maintenance of the machines is as simple as possible thanks to the completely removable panels and complete access

to the front.

AN EFFICIENT ENERGY USE

One of the most important characteristics of COOLSIDE EVO units is their high energy

efficiency, both at design and at the various operating conditions experienced during

the year.

The motocondensing units are equipped with inverter driven

compressor allowing proportional control of the cooling capacity,

while the axial fans electric motors are brushless type with built-

in electronic commutation system (EC). Moreover the condensing

section is equipped with a “microchannel” type heat exchanger

coil totally made in aluminium.

The evaporating units are equipped with plug-fan directly

coupled to brushless type electric motor with built-in electronic

commutation system (EC).

The compressor driven by an inverter varies the load continuously and

the regulation of the refrigerant circuit can be easily adapted, without

oscillations and transients, the operating conditions

required.

The system is highly efficient since it is supplying the

energy necessary to satisfy the required thermal load

only; furthermore it is possible to supply thermal or

cooling energy even in case of overload conditions of

the system. The working range of COOLSIDE EVO,

in comparison to the nominal values of cooling and

thermal capacity output, varies on average from 35% to 120%.

The fans electric motors are the brushless type with built-

in electronic commutation system (EC) which yield high

energy savings during operation in reduced air flow.

These electric motors are ensuring high performances,

minimum energy consumption and total absence of

electromagnetic noise.

ADVANTAGES OF THE “MICROCHANNEL TECHNOLOGY”

The micro-channel condensing coils are the ideal choice for operation with refrigerant pressures up-to 45 bar and they

are optimise on the motocondensing MCAI series with R410A refrigerant charge.

The micro-channel condensing coils are in aluminium and they are perfectly suitable for the civil and industrial

applications cooling, while the protection function of the oxide layer allows an optimum resistance to corrosion also in

case of aggressive ambient conditions.

The optional version with special protective surface treatment - acrylic painting TK Pro -

allows to obtain a high resistance to salt spray while maintaining

the same conditions of heat exchange capacity.

The use of aluminium for the micro-channel condensers

manufacture is able to offer the possibility for very light machinery:

the coil weight is only 50% compared to traditional copper pipes

and aluminium fins of the same capacity.

. The reduced air resistance of the micro-channel coils allows to

drastically reduce the fans motors electric energy consumption.

At the same performances conditions, the micro-channels

condensers require up-to less than 75% refrigerant when

compared to the traditional heat exchangers.

EASY AND SMART INSTALLATION

The air conditioning section is factory assembled, connected

and charged with refrigerant gas, lubricant oil and equipped with

control and protection devices.

The system needs only electric and refrigerant connections.

The server - rack is provided with power supply distribution

system with power cables and plugs.

THE SERVER RACK

The server-rack is made of painted steel sheet RAL 7015. The rack is a 19” standard type (482,6 mm) - 42U (1,75 inch =

44,45 mm).

The server - rack is in compliance with IEC 60 297-1/2 norms.

Maximum load capacity for internal installation 1000 kg.

The front door has a large opening angle of about 130 ° to allow easy access to internal components

The door is made of safety glass 3 mm thick and allows direct control of the internal equipment.

The back side door is made of painted steel sheet with a wide opening angle. The doors are equipped with handle with

security lock 3524 E.

The bus bar with maximum load of 96 A (7 modules 2 x 3 x 16A) and the power supply cord are offered as optionals.

ADVANTAGES OF THE “MICROCHANNEL TECHNOLOGY”

The micro-channel condensing coils are the ideal choice for operation

with refrigerant pressures up-to 45 bar and they are optimise on the

motocondensing MCAI series with R410A refrigerant

charge.

The micro-channel condensing coils are in aluminium

and they are perfectly suitable for the civil and industrial

applications cooling, while the protection function of the

oxide layer allows an optimum resistance to corrosion

also in case of aggressive ambient conditions.

The optional version with special protective surface

treatment - acrylic painting TK Pro - allows to obtain a

high resistance to salt spray while maintaining the same

conditions of heat exchange capacity.

The use of aluminium for the micro-channel condensers

manufacture is able to offer the possibility for very light

machinery: the coil weight is only 50% compared to

traditional copper pipes and aluminium fins of the

same capacity.

. The reduced air resistance of the micro-channel

coils allows to drastically reduce the fans motors

electric energy consumption.

At the same performances conditions, the micro-

channels condensers require up-to less than 75%

refrigerant when compared to the traditional heat

exchangers.

pump units and the gas/water heat exchanger works

as an evaporator or as a condenser.

When several NEXT DW P units are installed in a

building that require cooling in some areas and at the

same time, heating in other areas, is convenient to

connect the source side exchangers of all the units,

to a hydronic circuit loop in order to transfer the

condensation heat of the unit operating in cooling

mode, to the evaporator of the unit operating in

heating mode.

This solution allows operation of the machines with

very favourable ratios of benefit.
