Learn about It!  Holistic health is being healthy through having balance               and harmony in the physical, mental/intellectual,           emotional, social, and moral-spiritual wellness. It           includes all aspects of an individual’s life - the well-being                   of the body and mind, healthy relations with family and friends, others, also with God. These                               five aspects of human wellness are interrelated with each other. For example, a student who                             does not eat breakfast will feel weak, resulting in him not performing well in school. It shows                                 there that physical and mental wellness both suffered when not eating well.

Physical Dimension  Physical Dimension refers to the state of the body                 composition, development, function, and maintenance. It can             achieve its fullest potential if one can do a lot of things. A                         healthy physical body is obtained through proper nutrition,               having exercise, regular enough sleep, and avoids harmful               habits such as drinking alcoholic beverages, smoking             cigarettes and using prohibited substances. With physical             wellness, one will be able to do his tasks without getting tired                       often and enjoy the activities.       Mental/Intellectual Dimension  This dimension entails the wellness of the mind, having good                   reasoning, analyzes, evaluates, creates, and makes rational             decisions. An individual with strong mental health loves to                 learn, open to new ideas, and continuously improves himself                 for the betterment of his life and others.

 Fig. 5. Different emotions.

Emotional Dimension  As for this dimension, it involves the ability of an individual to cope with his own or other                                   people's feelings. It describes how an individual can achieve and sustain life’s daily demands                           and adjust in new, different situations. The expression of emotions like happiness, sadness,                         anger, fear, love, and stress must be shown in healthful ways when someone is emotionally                             well.

Fig. 6. Kids having fun playing together.

Social Dimension  Social health associates with the ability to build and manage harmonious and satisfying                         relationships with others. It describes as how well you get along with others. It is interrelated                               to the emotional wellness of an individual as being socially-accepted is important in                         achieving both dimensions.

Fig. 7. Praying helps to solve problems.

Moral-Spiritual Dimension  It is the spiritual wholeness that refers to one’s faith, beliefs, and values. This dimension is a                                 significant dimension of holistic health as it brings peace and harmony to everybody, focus,                           and direction to achieve more goals and a balanced life. An individual with moral-spiritual                           wellness continuously seeks the meaning and purpose of his life leading to serving God and                             doing good to others.
