3. One Golden Rule & Professionalism Having a Twitter
account also means that you need to maintain
professionalism....this holds true for all online tools. Employers
are keeping track on employees and applicants through social media.
Do not tweet how much you hate your boss, company co-worker or that
you are going to quit! It is totally natural to vent about your bad
day at work, whether it was a co-worker or boss, or a customer or
client....but it is NOT okay to tweet about it. The biggest reason
is because even if you have a private profile, some friends that
have a public account may RT (re-tweet) and the people you don't
want seeing it will. Take note of the golden rule....even if your
profile is private, some of your friends profiles are not....all it
takes is one RT from a friend with a public profile to get you
fired! You can block someone from reading your tweets.....but the
same rule applies, if your bad tweets are RT, then you are in
trouble. Even your profile is public and you block your boss, and
think it's alright to talk bad about them, the company or anything
else pertaining to work and you are safe....think again, because
they can log out of their account and go directly to your profile
and read away! They can view your tweets, who you are following,
who's following you, favorite tweets, lists and your images that
you post. Twitter: Leveraging Job-Search 2.0 Tools
4. How to use Twitter as a Job Search Tool Use Twitter search -
here you can look for jobs that are tweeted using keywords. Connect
with companies and jobs that you are interested in. Talk about your
skills, or information that is relevant to your field. You can
share your resume on Twitter. There are many services that allow
you to upload and tweet documents. TwitRes is one of these
services, but the fascinating thing about this one is that you can
track how many times your resume has been viewed. When posting your
resume be sure not to share too much personal information such as
house address, or phone number. I believe listing your social media
sites Twitter: sufficient. and email as contact information

5. How to use Twitter As A Job Search Tool Continued Always
send a follow-up with an email or phone call if needed. Make sure
to use your real name or a professional name. Another way to market
your profile is to utilize the background of your Twitter profile.
Twitbacks has templates to help you achieve this. Use Tweet My Jobs
to get new job openings or use NearbyTweets to look for openings in
your area. Make a twitter list. (This is a way to organize the

6. Writing Your Bio Writing your bio can be tricky, especially
since it can only be 160 character summary. Remember to Include
keywords in your bio because Twitter acts as a searching tool. For
instance, being a full time stay at home mom can be a big part of
who you are, but if you are job-seeking, then keywords are going to
be important for those recruiters and employers to be able to find
you. Do not leave this bio empty or waste time adding quotes from
