Slide 4 Measuring arms are sectional axis measuring machines whose
basic component is a mechanical arm with several joints (links).
Slide 5 Monitored elements (e.g. sizes) are scanned by contact
sensors. Thanks to ball & joint principle, it is possible to
measure by sensor at hard to access places of measured object (e.g.
In cavities). Measuring extent of these systems is from 1,2 m to
3,8 m. Due to its small weight and high mobility, measuring arm can
move easily towards measured object or it can be placed exactly on
the machine tool. Slide 6 FARO Arm Fusion is the lowest type in
line. Its advantage is measuring accuracy, ergonomics and
reliability in workshop setting conditions. Type(measuring extent)

Mobile tripod Slide 8 Fixed fixture: used to place measuring arm
directly to table or to mobile truck. Clamp is bolt to table
tightly. Magnetic fixture: used to place measuring arm to magnetic
surface e.g. exactly on monitored component Vacuum fixture: used to
place measuring arm to non- metallic or non-magnetic surface of
measured component Slide 9 Shifting cone: used to measuring large
sized components, larger than measuring arm extent. Contact probe:
Selected in accordance to shape and measured component complexity.
They are divided up to probe diameter (ball), up to length or shank
shape. Slide 10 Aircraft production: components measuring,
balancing tools and forms setting Car industry: components
measuring, balancing tools and forms setting Metalworking:
inspection of the 1st component, measuring in piece and series
production Forms and tools inspection, scanning and making
prototypes, machining control Slide 11 It is necessary to make
contact probe and scanner calibration before measuring or in case
of contact probe change. It is necessary to use calibration table,
set measuring machine accuracy is checked by this way. Slide 12 At
first, we calibrate calibration plate surface and then we calibrate
scanner. When the calibration is successful, we can start measuring
inspection or components scanning Slide 13 3D scanning Used to
component checking by comparing with CAD model and engineering
reverse. The result is graphic report, chart or graphic detail with
selected values presentation. Inspection measuring Used to measured
component inspection by contact method. Result is measuring report
or graphic comparison of measured component with model. Slide 14
