Turkey erzincan town

Erzincan is a province in the eastern region of

Anatolia.

ERZINCAN

It is a city surrounded by mountains with vineyards in the center.

It was destroyed and rebuilt after an earthquake of magnitude 7.9 in 1939.

This Atatürk portrait created with rocks in 1982. It is at the north of Erzincan. 3000 soldier worked for it on 7500 m2. Atatürk is the founder of Turkish Republic.

It is the biggest portait of Atatürk.

The seasons in Erzincan have a beauty of their own. In the summer months the blistering heat is broken by cool winds. And the freezing colds of the eastern Anadolu give up their place for a

"soft winter".

During spring

This is the biggest shopping center in our city.You can watch movies,

play bowling, go to the fitness center in this building.Also there are lots

of cafes and shops on clothes,bags,technogical devices etc.

It doesn’t usually snow in the city center.The elder people say it snows on the mountains for seven years and in the eighth year it snows on

the vineyards.

Our city is very famous for the special cheese called "Tulum Peyniri" in Turkish.

The people of Erzincan have expressed their feelings using designs and motifs on copper

works which decorate the windows of the shops.

Erzincan is a candidate for becoming the capital of Turkey's open air sports activities with its

placid lakes, rapid flowing rivers, spas,mountains, plateuas and valleys.

In the valleys it is warm during certain seasons, however the mountains are snow-capped most of the year and are ideal for

trekking and skiing.

The dam lakes of Tercan and Keban are

perfect for water skiiing.

Rafting on in the rough waters of Fırat (Euphrates), is one of the sports activities enjoyed by visitors .

In Erzincan mountain bike races are organized every year.

Ekşi Su (Sour water)Together with the local and foreign tourists a

lot of researchers and scientists visit here.

In Eksisu you will taste the"mineral water"

and you will seek ailment in its hot springs; in the sulphuric water you will refind yourself.

There are a lot of pools in this area. People with their families look for well-being in these pools. The water has a temperature between

33 and 37 degrees centigrade.

Research has shown that the water from these pools has a wholesome effect on rheumatism, skin, arteriosclerosis and heart disease.

Lake Aygır This is a crater lake.

Especially in spring time it has a beautiful view. Green and blue together… There you can fish.
