Trinity Rotary Participates inPurple Pinky Day
The Rotary Club of Trinity isdedicated to the eradication of
polioworldwide. On Saturday February 23,Rotary members educated
customersat Sams Club in New Port Richeyabout the efforts to end
polio as partof the international Purple Pinky Day.
In 1985, Rotary Internationalbegan raising funds in an effort
toeliminate polio worldwide. Polio hasnot been a problem in the
UnitedStates for many years, but this is notthe case in many
developing countries.By partnering with the World
HealthOrganization and other governmentand private groups, Rotary
Interna-tional has achieved a 99% reduction ofpolio worldwide.
Millions of childrenin polio-endemic countries know thata freshly
marked purple pinkie meansfreedom from the disease.
Gentian Violet is a topical dyeused by Rotary International to
mark
children after they have been immu-nized from Polio. This
prevents dou-ble dosage. The Rotarian volunteerspassed out
information about RotaryInternationals polio eradication effortand
marked customers pinky with apurple marker as part of the
commu-nity education effort. Trinity Rotaryalso donated $1,000 to
the PolioPlusprogram.
The New Port Richey RotaryClub meets every Wednesday at noonat
the Spartan Manor in NewPort Richey. Rotary International is
anorganization of business and profes-
sional persons united worldwide whoprovide humanitarian service,
encour-age high ethical standards in all voca-tions, and help build
goodwill andpeace in the world.
Genesis School Food Drive Sup-ports Healthy Families Program

students are elected by theirclasses and represent each
grade, kindergarten through fifth grades. Thestudents join Student

Students learn to helpthose who are less fortunate. By col-lecting
and delivering these items, stu-dents get a better understanding of
theimportance of giving, instead of tak-ing. They are proud of
their service to
the people they are helping. It was helpful for the people

Still No Fix for Thousand Oaks/Trinity Oaks
In September 2012 our publica-tion reported that the Thousand
Oaksdevelopment, located on the north-west corner of Trinity Blvd.
and LittleRd. in Trinity, had been plagued withunexpected flooding,
dating back asfar as late 2002. County officials arestill plowing
through solutions for thislong-term flooding problem.
A study conducted by the countyin 2004 found that the roads in
Thou-sand Oaks were not built to countystandards; they were built
too low be-cause the developers used inaccurateground water
measurements takenduring a drought and were compro-mised by rising
groundwater in certainareas, causing the ruts and potholes inthe
roads throughout the community. Some retention ponds fill up
quicklyand dont drain properly because theyare a few feet lower
than surroundingwetlands.

cently that a key fix that could take sixmonths before
construction evenstarts. Officials say the project is criti-cal.
The project would be a newswale behind the CVS pharmacy at
thecorner of Seven Springs and MitchellBlvds. The structure would
connectdrainpipes under each road. Much ofthe basins water flows
through thatpoint, which one county official calledchoked.
Construction cost is esti-mated at $600,000.
Short-term maintenance effortsare being undertaken at various
pointson the Duck Slough basin. Thecounty has been working with
home-owners groups to clean drainpipes andother structures at
various points alongthe basin. Homeowners groups arelargely
responsible for such work, butsome groups put if off for
severalyears. Ron Levi, president of thenearby Trinity Oaks
Property OwnersAssociation, stressed that it is incum-bent on the
Thousand Oaks Associa-tion to stay on top of their
masterassociation to clean everything up.
Officials stressed that the im-provements would be designed to
pro-tect homes and major streets in theevent of a so-called
100-year flood(the l00-year flood is more accurately
referred to as the 1% Annual Ex-ceedance Probability Flood,
since it isa flood that has a 1% chance of beingequaled or exceeded
in any single year)although they wouldnt protectagainst a storm of
the magnitude ofTropical Storm Debby which dropped15 inches of rain
in a 24-hour period, followed by several more storms in thenext few
days.
Proposed improvements wouldhelp ponds drain faster and reduce
thetime streets and yards are flooded. Analternative focus would be
on eitherconstructing a ditch through a seriesof wetlands in the
basin, or building abypass to route water west alongMitchell
Blvd.
Pasco County officials say theysympathize with residents
frustrationsbut emphasized there is no quick solu-tion to the
problems that plague theThousand Oaks and Trinity Oakscommunities.
Permits for majordrainage projects could take a longtime to obtain.
The county must provethat flood control measures wontharm more
people than they help.

The Early Childhood Center

of the students families deco-rated shoeboxes and filled them

Today the program at the churchat 8320 Old County Rd. 54 has
90students, ranging in age from 2 to 5,spread across five

Catholic core, withdaily prayer time, and faith-based char-ity
projects, but its also welcoming tochildren of other faiths.
Sometimesthere are visits from the pastor, FatherMike Lydon, who
always comes with aguitar in hand to sing with the stu-dents. ECCs

Trinity became home to the firstTCBY Self-Serve on the West
Coast ofFlorida on August 19, 2011, whenowners Patti and Jay Silar
opened thestore with their daughter and Market-ing Manager Jenifer
Silar-Mills.Opening a local TCBY Self-Serve fran-chise idea first
came to Patti and Jayabout three years ago when they en-joyed
visiting a TCBY Self-Serve storein Charlotte, North Carolina.
Withclassic favorites like Golden Vanilla,Chocolate and White
ChocolateMousse and many monthly rotatingflavors all at 96, 98, or
100 percentfat free its understandable why Pattiand Jay decided
TCBY Self-Servewould be a great business to openback home in
Trinity.
The Countrys Best Yogurt, orTCBY, originally opened in 1981,
andis the countrys oldest frozen yogurtcompany. The company has
highhealth and quality standards that alsoappeal to Patti Silar who
is a retiredRN. Patti says, TCBY purchasesproducts that are of high
quality.Fresh fruit is sanitized to meet TCBYrequirements, and we
dont use frozenfruit because it turns to mush on ourtopping bar.
Our canned fruits are intheir own juices instead of syrup.
Jay Silar adds, Our yogurts andmost of our toppings are also
Kosherand Halal certified. We want to meetour customers needs.
TCBYs yogurt is delicious, smooth and creamy. The possibilitiesof
flavor combinations and toppingsseem endless, but you may not
have
known it has a great nutritional value, too. TCBY offers a number
of yo-gurts that are considered Super Fro-Yos. A Super Fro Yo is a
newclassification of frozen yogurt that setsa high standard for
nutrition withinthe frozen yogurt industry. To qualifyas a Super
Fro-Yo, TCBYs frozen yo-gurts meet or exceed (based on a 4oz., cup
serving) having at least 3grams of fiber, 7 types of live and
ac-tive cultures, 4 grams of protein, and20% DV of Vitamin D and
Calcium. The fiber and probiotics in TCBY yo-
gurt help you feel satis-fied and aids your bodyin digestion,
boostingyour general health. It isa great source of VitaminD and
Calcium, whichare essential for yourbone and muscle health. The
protein in TCBY yo-gurt contains aminoacids that help propermuscle
maintenance.Eating healthy has nevertasted so good!
When you first enterTCBY in Trinity, you no-tice that its bright
andcolorful atmosphere, in-cluding a light wall thatchanges colors
with the
music, adds to the fun of getting atreat. The warm greeting you
getfrom the staff, along with an offeringof a sample, lets you know
that TCBYisnt just in the yogurt business, butthe people business,
too. You choosebetween a 16 oz. or 25 oz. servingcup, and then

Thompson Dental at Trinity is astate-of-the-art family and
cosmeticdental practice that has been a favoriteto many Trinity
residents since itsGrand Opening in the Trinity Profes-sional Park
five years ago. Since then, patients have been raving
aboutChristopher J. Thompson, DMD andhis kind, professional
staff.
Local resident, Gina Duffy, bringsher family to Dr. Thompson and
says,Our dentist is awesome. He is verythorough, and welcomes any
ques-tions that I have. She adds, The hy-gienist, Dominique, was
the best Iever had!
Dr. Thompson is a second-gener-ation dentist, and was born and
raisednearby, graduating from River RidgeHigh School. After high
school, he at-tended Florida State University for hisBachelor of
Science degree, and thenhe earned his Doctor of Medicine
inDentistry at The University of Florida.Since then, he has been
dedicated tobuilding his practice and staying in-
volved in the community. In fact, Dr.Thompson is an active
member inmany dental organizations includingthe West Coast District
Dental Associ-ation, the West Pasco Dental Associa-tion, the
Florida Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. He
is also a member of The AmericanAcademy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr. Thompson Keeps The WholeFamily Smiling
Going to the dentist is an easyand relaxing experience at
ThompsonDental at Trinity, because the minuteyou walk in the door
you are treatedlike a guest. The friendly and knowl-edgeable staff
does everything theycan to make you feel comfortable fromthe moment
you walk in, and thateven includes enjoying their compli-mentary
juice bar. Their treatmentrooms are even equipped with massag-ing
dental chairs, which instantly calmany nerves and put you at ease.
Pa-tients are able to watch TV or listen tomusic while they receive
treatment aswell, so when the appointment is over, patients are
truly smiling brighter and
feeling refreshed. One of the things that make
Thompson Dental unique is Dr.Thompsons willingness to treat
peo-ple of all ages, from infants whoseteeth are just budding, to
adults whoneed dentures. Busy families love hav-ing one dentist to
turn to for check-ups, restorative work and cosmeticprocedures. Its
also a testament to Dr.Thompsons warm, whole-family ap-proach to
dentistry, that people of allages enjoy going to the dentist
atThompson Dental.
He says, A lot of dentists dont[treat] kids, but I tend to go
slowlyand take my time. I like to be able toexamine everyone
individually andtreat them in the way that I would ex-pect to be
treated in their position.
Thompson Dental at Trinity hasthe newest technology like the
ultra-low dose digital x-ray machines, whichgive off as much
radiation as eating abanana. (Did you know that the potas-sium in a
banana actually gives off ra-diation?) These digital x-rays are
anexcellent tool, because any concernsthat the doctor may have can
easily
and instantly be shared with the pa-tient.
Dr. Thompson says, We use digi-tal x-rays and intraoral cameras
so thatwe can easily show you cracks or cavi-ties that we find.
Dr. Thompson takes a thoroughand conservative approach with his
pa-tients, making sure that they are in-volved in every step of the
process. He

explains, I tell my patients what I see,and educate them on what
I recom-mend, and then I let them decide. This no pressure approach
sets Dr.Thompson apart, and puts his patientsat ease.
In addition to routine checkups, regular hygiene and oral cancer
screen-ings, Dr. Thompson and his staff canhelp with a multitude of
restorativeand cosmetic dental concerns, fromcavities and crowns to
bridges and ve-neers. The beautiful thing about cos-metic dentistry
is that it is an art formin itself. Dr. Thompson can take
some-thing necessary, like a crown, andmake sure that it is
functional, com-fortable, and even beautiful.
Dr. Thompson can create thesmile that youve always dreamed
ofhaving by using bonding techniques, veneers, dental implants and
more.Bonding is a relatively quick way torepair teeth while
cosmetically correct-ing the way that they look. In fact, itsa
perfect solution for fixing gaps, evening up your smile, filling-up
acavity and even covering up toothstains. Bonding can last a long
time up to 10 years, and is an affordableand attractive way to
improve yoursmile.
If you are missing some teeth, dental implants are a permanent,
com-fortable and beautiful solution. Dr.Thompson also can help with
den-tures, including partial dentures, con-ventional full dentures,
and evenimmediate dentures. Some patientsopt for mini-implants,
which offerdental stabilization for dentures thatcan now snap right
into place.
If you are interested in teethwhitening, Thompson Dental at
Trin-ity offers two kinds of options fortheir patients. One is a
traditionalteeth whitening by using trays that areespecially formed
to match your teeth, and you simply add the whitening so-lution to
the trays and use them asoften as you feel the need to.
Anotheroption is ZOOM!, which is done inthe office. Zoom! uses a
low inten-sity light that activates a specially for-mulated
whitening gel to whiten teethby 6-10 shades in just about an
hour.
Dr. Thompson says, Zoom!will last a year or more at least,
al-though it varies due to a persons diet.Things like coffee, red
wine, soda anddark fruit juices can affect how long itlasts.
If you feel that you need morethan teeth whitening to finally
have
the smile youve always dreamed of,Dr. Thompson can make that
dreamcome true. This is an amazing timefor cosmetic dentistry,
because yoursmile can be completely made-over.He says, I enjoy the
bigger cosmeticcases. Its a process that takes time, but in the end
the results can be life-changing!
Thankfully, no matter what kindof shape your teeth are in, and
nomatter how long it has been since youhave been to the dentist,
there is hopeand a real solution at Thompson Den-tal at
Trinity.
If you are a nervous patient, Dr.Thompson and his staff can
offer Ni-trous Oxide, although Dr. Thompsonsays that most people
feel comfortableenough that they dont find it neces-sary.
Thompson Dental at Trinitymeets and surpasses all OSHA
(Occu-pational Safety and Health Adminis-tration) and CDC (Center
for DiseaseControl) standards and accepts mostdental insurances. If
you dont havedental insurance, they are offering anew patient

With the deadline for filing 2012tax returns looming, it is the
perfecttime for those age 60 or older to takeadvantage of a
flat-rate $69 fee to havetheir income taxes prepared and filedwith
a company that is trusted forgoing the extra mile for its clients.
Aswe age our tax returns become sim-pler, so why pay what everyone
elsedoes? says owner, Ed Rizzotto. TheRizzotto Tax Advisory
Group, founded in 2006 by Edward G. Riz-zotto, is much more than
just a taxpreparation firm the company iscomprised of a team of
experts in thefields of taxes, finance, insurance andlaw who are
dedicated to helping re-tirees save money on their taxes, pro-tect
their assets, and prepare for acomfortable future.
With an uncertain economy inour future, many retirees and
babyboomers are concerned about whethertheir pensions and
retirement savingswill last the rest of their lives. Whetheryou are
already a retiree, or within fiveor ten years of retiring, you need
toknow how to protect your money andunderstand how tax laws will
affectyour retirement. In addition, there areoften legitimate
adjustments that canbe made now to reduce tax liabilitiesof which
many people are unaware.
Not Just For RetireesRizzotto Tax Advisory Group ex-
tends their $69 flat-rate fee for federaltax returns (state
returns are includedif applicable) to government employ-ees and
municipal workers, teachers,law enforcement personnel,
firefightersand now active and retired militarypersonnel of any
age. They also pro-
vide tax services to baby boomers andthose nearing retirement
who may stillbe working.
With tax laws changing every dayit is nearly impossible for the
averageindividual to keep up. Seemingly sub-tle changes in tax laws
can make a bigdifference in tax liability, and thank-fully, not
always in a negative way. EdRizzotto explains, It is imperativethat
baby boomers who are age 59 or older, and still working be aware
ofhow the Pension Protection Actsigned into law August 17,
2006changed the rules governing IRAs,401(k)s, 403(b)s & 457
plans andwhat they must know to protect themand their family.
It is also important for people toknow about recent laws passed
by theDepartment of Labor as they relate todisclosure of fees
within employer re-tirement plans. These fees now mustbe disclosed
to both employers andemployees. Most people dont knowwhat they are
paying in fees. I want tomake my clients aware of the laws.
The Rizzotto TeamEd grew up in Pinellas County

the U.S. Coast Guard for 13 years.In 1999, he joined a local
retirementplanning firm, where he helped hun-dreds of retirees over
6 years. He en-joyed the opportunity to benefit thecommunity, and
was determined tocreate a complete local business wherehe could
help retirees save money ontheir taxes and better manage
theirportfolios, so that they could focus onenjoying their
retirement years andThe Rizzotto Tax Advisory Group wasestablished

care, wills, trusts, annuities and life in-surance. Clients have
access to expertsin the fields of taxes, finance, insur-ance, and
the services of elder law at-torneys who can handle wills,
trusts, and overall estate planning. Ed says,Clients like the
opportunity we pro-vide to get everything taken care of inone
place.
When people come in to see us,says Ed, the first thing we do is
dedi-cate an hour or two of our time tocomplete an overall review
that coversthe last couple of years, includinggoing over their tax
returns in detail, studying their portfolios, and dis-
cussing their important concerns todetermine how we can help
them.Then, at a follow-up appointment, wepresent a thorough plan
for them.
The Rizzotto Tax AdvisoryGroup provides conservative yet
effec-tive advice when it comes to financialplanning and
investments. Many peo-ple are concerned with the economyright now
and preservation of funds isvery important, says Ed. Saving
ontaxes, reducing taxation on social secu-rity and protecting the
financial well-being of a spouse after anothers death those are
things that my clients areconcerned about. Today, people also
want alternatives to CDs and moneymarket accounts. They are
looking forsomething tangible and more clientsare investing in
precious metals with usand other conservative investment ve-hicles
of which they may have beenpreviously unaware.
Rizzotto explains that being in-volved with his clients in all
the keyareas of tax returns, insurance needsand investments helps
protecting theirbottom line. Weve had people whohave had other
advisors and financialplanners who convinced them to makechanges,
not aware of the tax im-pacts, says Ed. If there is an invest-ment
or change that could cause ataxable event we know that
up-front.
Client TestimonialsPalm Harbor residents Olly and
Vicky G. write, We have just receivedthe results for the first
two years thatwe have had since taking your recom-mendations for an
investment programto suit our financial and income needs. We want
you to know that we are mostappreciative of your assistance to
us,particularly since we have increased ournet worth each year
while drawing theplanned monthly income from our ac-count, even
with the sliding poor USeconomy. You have thoroughly dis-cussed, in
detail, our financial positionand desires for our retirement
years. You have answered our phone callspromptly and you have fully
answeredall of our questions. Frankly, we havenever received such
fine assistance andresults from any of the numerous con-sultants
that we have had over the pastmany years.
Russ and Vicki, a couple fromPalm Harbor who retired in 1996,
atfirst went with a big-name company.Unsatisfied, they started
looking forsomeone who would be readily avail-able to them. Vicki
and I got an ap-pointment with Ed, and he helped us
get things changed over on a Friday af-ternoon as the market was
going downfast. We got everything changed overbefore the big drop
in December of2007. As the months went by, we werevery happy and we
felt very lucky thatwe contacted Ed and his Group. Welost about
one-third of our retirementbefore we went with Ed, but we wouldhave
lost two-thirds of it if we hadntswitched. We now have yearly
meetingsto look at where we are and where wewant to go. We would
recommendRizzotto Tax Advisory Group to any-one dissatisfied with
their current in-vestment firm.
Ed and Barbara J. of Trinity arehappy they chose Rizzotto Tax
Advi-sory Group. We have been very happywith Eds handling of our
portfolio. Before Ed handled our investments,we were involved in a
losing mutualfund, which Ed suggested we sell im-mediately and
reinvest in a Fund sug-gested by him. This new fund pulled usout of
a hole, and we give credit to EDRIZZOTTO. Ed is always ready
tohelp. He has come to our home any-time we ask him, to explain
some ofour questions. We have our income taxdone by his firm and
never have had aproblem. All in all, our transactionswith Ed and
his staff, have been noth-ing but exceptional. We do recom-mend Ed
Rizzotto most highly.

I really enjoy going out to eat butsometimes find it hard to
find healthyoptions at restaurants. That is why I wasso happy to
discover Bangkok Sushi lo-cated in the Northpointe Village onState
Road 54. With its combination ofdelicious, flavorful Thai food and
freshexpertly prepared sushi, Bangkok Sushioffers a huge variety of
food that tastesgreat and is good for you too the per-fect
combination!
The food at Bangkok Sushi is deli-cious and everything is made
fresh to
order. The friendly wait staff is veryhelpful and the inviting
dining room isdecorated with beautiful exotic statues, woodcarvings,
wall hangings and orna-mental pieces many brought overfrom
Thailand. Bangkok Sushi has beenopen since July 2009 and owner
JohnChieopanich says he sees many returncustomers and enjoys
getting to knowthem.
Thai cuisine is one of the healthiestfoods you can eat. In fact,
several Thaidishes, such as Tom Yum Soup, havebeen studied for
their incredible healthbenefits. Many of the fresh herbs and
spices used in Thai cooking - such asturmeric, galangal,
coriander, lemon-grass, and fresh chilies - have immune-boosting
and disease-fighting power.
If youve never tried Thai food youare in for a culinary treat,
and if youhave had it before, you will find this tobe some of the
best authentic Thai foodyouve ever eaten.
You can choose from one of the
scrumptious Chefs Specials like CrispyDuck, Volcano Chicken,
SalmonPanang or Volcano Lobster. If you likecurries, they make
delicious ones atBangkok Sushi including red, green andyellow
curries, Massamun curry and myfavorite Panang Curry. They
havenoodle dishes including Pad Thai thepopular Thai noodle dish of

sprouts, crushed peanuts and tamarindsauce. At Bangkok Sushi
they use verylittle oil when stir-frying or sauting themeats and
vegetables in their dishes, infact many of the vegetables are
steamed.
Bangkok Sushi has a section ofvegetarian dishes on the menu,
plus al-most every dish can be made vegetarian. On the night we
went, I had the Tor-nado Tofu and my husband had theYellow Curry
with Chicken. Both disheswere a delectable blend of flavors. Youcan
designate how spicy you want yourfood from one star coward,- to
fourstars Native Thai.
In addition to the more than 40entrees for you to choose
from,
Bangkok Sushi offers many appetizerslike egg rolls, spring
rolls, dumplingsand satay, traditional Thai salads andheavenly
soups. We had the wonderfulTom Yum soup hot and sour soupwith straw
mushrooms, lemon grass, galangal roots, kaffir lime leaves,
tomatoand lime juice and the delicious TomKha soup coconut milk
soup withstraw mushrooms and lime juice.
One of the reasons Thai food is sotasteful is the herbs and
spices used dur-ing the cooking process. A great Thaichef knows the
timing of when to addfood and spices so that everything iscooked to
perfection and the flavorsblend together. Becoming experienced
at Thai cooking can takemany years and most of thechefs at
Bangkok Sushibegan learning the intrica-cies of Thai food whenthey
were growing up inThailand.
Sushi is another greattasting and healthy optionwhen you are
eating out.In general, fish provides alean source of
low-calorie,high quality protein. Itsalso low in saturated fatsand
cholesterol, making ita heart-healthy foodchoice. Salmon is
especiallyhigh in omega-3 fatty
acids, which are linked to improvedcholesterol levels, lowered
blood pres-sure and decreased risk of abnormalheart rhythms. Tuna
also has omegaoomph.
The thin sheets of seaweed, ornori, which are flattened, cut
andwrapped around maki and hand rolls, contain mighty minerals.
Iodine, essen-tial for proper hormone function, isabundant in this
dried sea vegetable.Youll also get the benefits of magne-sium,
calcium, iron and folic acid fromeating rolls wrapped in nori.
The head sushi chef at BangkokSushi trained for many years at a
five
star hotel in Thailand. He orders thefreshest fish available and
expertly turnsit into edible, mouthwatering works ofart. John says
most of the customerswho come to Bangkok Sushi order bothsushi and
Thai food. You can start yourmeal off with one of their many
spe-cialty rolls like the sunny tuna or thethree sum. If you want
to make sushiyour dinner, you can choose from oneof Bangkok Sushis
Sushi or Sashimidinners or you can pick and choose therolls you
want from their extensive list. The sushi we had was fabulous. We
es-pecially enjoyed the kanisu roll krab, avocado and masago wrapped
in paper-thin cucumber slices in a rice vinegarsauce. Several of
the customers I talkedto who were eating sushi said it was thebest
sushi they had ever had.
If youre in the mood for a deli-cious, healthy meal, Bangkok
Sushi isthe place to go.
