Trinity Times From Peggys Pen First, let me begin by saying how much I miss each of you, and how thankful I am to be in community with you all. It is great to hear about the phone calls youve been making and receiving. The creative ways youve been engaging in worship through Facebook live, KDSJ 980 AM radio station, and through our website. And the ways youve been showing love to our community through teddy bears and hearts in windows, and supporting local businesses as able. As I write this, I honestly do not know what our future holds for when we can begin to gather again and what that will look like. I do not want to rush into things. I will be in discussion with our leadership about if/when we should resume, and what additional precautions we will need to take. While we continue to wait and live into this time of Covid-19, I know that we as a church, will continue to be the church. The church is made up of the people. People who love God, who follow Jesus, and have the companionship of the Holy Spirit. People who will serve in creative and amazing ways. Your generosity and support for one another, our community, and the ministry has been wonderful. This past month, I have seen masks made, food collected and distributed, people helping one another out through shopping, children making beautiful drawings to send to those who are homebound, and relationships strengthening. Your generosity and support for one another, our community, and the ministry has been wonderful. We continue to be the church that is making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world, focusing on this mission – through connecting to worship, using worship kits, and reaching out to one another. We continue to serve, teach, and connect to all through the light and love of Christ. Our church may look different right now, but my friends, we are still the church! God is still our God and creator! Jesus is still our Lord and Savior! And there is no question that the Holy Spirit is sustaining us during this time. I know there will come a time when we can gather again in person. I know that this time of challenges, inconveniences, along with a mixture of some fear and anxiety will pass. And as hard as this all is, I invite you to continue to be patient. Continue to show and be love. And continue to trust in our God. We dont want to rush into anything, and we will keep you informed as we are able of how we can resume gathering when we are able. Thank you! Mission Report Mission Committee: Howdy, hope you are all doing well. April's Change for a Change recipient was the Camp Scholarship Fund. The total is still outstanding as we are relying on mail and website donations. May is supporting VBS. We will find out in early May if there is a camping season this year. If there is, then we will have VBS. If no camp, then no VBS. All funds will be held over for next year if not used this year. Watch for updates from the office.

There is not a Special Giving Sunday scheduled for May. The next one is June 7, the 2nd Sunday after Memorial Day. The funds will support 'Peace with Justice'.

Meals on Wheels is May 3rd through the 9th . Many thanks to those who are helping but we could use a few more names. It is for ONLY one day and takes about 1 1/2 hours. Please call Sue at 920-7788 with questions and to volunteer. Many thanks to the Hauges, Tyneal Thorp, the Notebooms, the Prays and Devries for deliv-ering this month!

Adopt-A-Platoon: We have 120 cards to be sent out in their 'care' packages. This is 10 boxes of cards so we could use a few extra people who will take 1+ boxes to address and write a short message inside of each card. Boxes of cards will are available at the CMC. Please return them by May 15th so they can be sent for June Care packages. Call Sue to help.

Health kits will be put together after Rally but as you shop now, please consider picking up any of the needed items: Individually Packaged toothbrushes and bars of soap (30z or larger). Combs, nail clippers, wash clothes and hand towels, 10- 3" x 3/4' bandages.

We can stock-pile them until ready to be put together in gallon Zip Lock bags.

Respectfully submitted,

Sue Holloway

Celebrating our High School Seniors: We are still looking forward to celebrating and recognizing our graduating high school seniors! We will wait to recognize them, until we are able to gather together again. We are still working on their gifts, and as soon as the bible’s arrive – we will let you know (they are currently on hold because the seller is closed due to Covid-19). We recognize that this year has been filled with additional challenges and unmet expectations with all the cancellations occurring, and not being able to celebrate the milestones that they were looking forward to. This class is resilient and deserves to be recognized and celebrated. These are the seniors we currently have on our roster are: Anna Campbell Kaddan Dillman Raygan Mattson Alicia Roden Dylan Schumacher *Please contact the office if there is someone that we have missed.

After graduation I will be taking a year off, and then starting either my social work or dental assisting degree :) haven't made a for sure choice yet!

Raygan Mattson

I would like to thank the congregation for supporting me all throughout the years, and coming to support my teams and I at games! Thanks for making sure that we all had the opportunity to go to camps, providing us with vacation bible school, showing us how to love others through the biker breakfast, and most importantly showing us how to have a strong relationship with god. For my future I plan on attending South Dakota State University to further my education in physical education and health. I

also plan on coaching basketball and/or volleyball. I would like to teach and coach in my hometown or close to it! Thanks Raygan Mattson

Anna Campbell

I’d like to thank everyone who is a part of the Trinity United Methodist Church. The support and advice that has been given to me by you all is greatly appreciated.
