Concept – The purpose of this music video is to represent how the exiting of a relationship does not always have to be a negative event and shows the positive side to the ending of a chapter in their life. This negativity will be shown through montage at the beginning. As such, the female in my video will be carefree, expressing herself and celebrating her newfound freedom with her friends

from the man she once loved but grew apart from due to lack of chemistry and common interests. The broad use of colour is to represent the messiness of their relationship and how it affected other people around them due to their constant fighting and arguing creating conflict. Creative editing, performance, lighting and camera angles will play a key role in creating the upbeat atmosphere to this

pop music video.

Narrative – As typically pop videos don’t have a strict, set narrative I will be trying to introduce a narrative so that the video has a purpose. The video will start off showing the separation of this relationship, in daylight and throughout will progress in time over the three minutes of song, which will follow the progression of time/day.

The reason for this the narrative will be based around a young girl celebrating being out of her relationship, the progression of day is representing their long relationship which caused her stress and conflict between her friends. This conflict will be shown through performance, editing and the use of different coloured powder paints, representing emotions.

Colour – The choice of colour will vary in this video. Each colour used is to represent a certain mood or feeling within that relationship/friendship. Most of the colour will be in the form of powder paint, which will make up a lot of the visuals within the video along with UV neon paint and coloured sparklers, which will add variation and fun to the pop video. Each colour should be considered to represent a different mood/emotion. The actors/artists will also be dressed in bright clothing to reflect the uplifting happy mood of the song which I am trying to portray.

Performance - in particular from my artists will be a contributing factor in creating upbeat atmosphere, which is typically

expected in pop videos. As powder paint will be thrown at my artist/actors I need them to be sensible when throwing and not aim for

faces as people make choke (health and safety).Needing my artists to be confident when singing so that it establishes star image and likeability.

Props- Props will be used to create both atmosphere and become part of the lighting within my footage. I intend to use a number of sparklers to create high key lighting and capture detailed footage of the sparks which will contribute to the concept/relationship my artist had. The UV body paint is creative and expresses vulnerbility whilst expressing the emotions my character went through in this relationship.
