Here’s how the HP Delivery Notification Solution for Manufacturing works:

The delivery process• Goods are prepared for delivery while

request is sent to the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system for the shipment’s PODs.

• The system creates three PODs with matching barcodes. Two PODs are sent to the warehouse’s HP MFP for printing. The third copy is delivered electronically to your document management system (DMS).

• The goods and the printed PODs are shipped to their final destination. The customer checks the goods, signs the POD, and keeps a copy of the signed POD. Back in the warehouse, or at a dedicated collection point on the road, the signed POD is scanned using a customized and secure field on the front panel of the HP MFP. The scan of the document triggers the workflow to route the digital copy of the signed POD, match it, and store it with the original POD in the DMS system.

The customer request process • The customer calls with inquiries about

an order.

• The customer support agent retrieves the electronic copy of the signed POD instantaneously via a simple request in the DMS and can confidently respond to the customer inquiry.
