Planning We planned to take many different shots when creating our poster, so

we could choose the best photograph and to make it. These are the planned images with the real image.

Choosing Our ShotIn the end we took a

spontaneous picture of Freya sitting on the edge of the platform. While taking the planned photos and being in the location, more ideas grew in our head. The genre is a psychological thriller with a story about a girl and a train track and the image of Freya that we shot, captured this perfectly.

Finished Poster

This is our finished practice poster for

our film titles – Tracking. It includes

all main poster conventions and is

edited well.

Page 5: Tracking Analysis

Analysis The poster

contains the conventions such as actors names, reviews, film title, main image, tagline and billing block except for one; the release date. These are all placed in the spaces that they are put in any other conventional poster. Which can be seen in this image to the right.

AnalysisThe image however is edited and

modified greatly which takes away the simplicity of the photograph. The way we edited the image was to create a distorted feel and that you cannot clearly see what is happening which is how the main characters brain is working. The effect used also created an older feel to the film at that it is set in a time before the present (2014).

Analysis The colours that are used also do not

represent the genre properly. The image contains many light colours like white, pink and yellow. This takes away the thriller feel to the film so darker colours should have been used. We should have also used the same colour font throughout as the title is white, actors names are black, tagline is yellow and the billing block is a combination of black and white. However, the yellow tagline does stand out and will be remembered by the audience as it links to train safety in which everybody would see at a railway line and is now associated with the film.
