    A monthly group for parents, guardians, and

    caregivers that is facilitated by a Therapeutic

    Recreation staff person but is directed by the

    group members. This FREE informal group gives

    participants the opportunity to meet and talk with

    other parents and caregivers who are

    experiencing the challenges of parenting a child,

    teen, or young adult with a disability. At the

    March meeting, we will receive a presentation by

    the Developmental Vision Center please note

    Spend an energizing morning with your child learn-

    ing the basic skills needed to play tee ball! During

    the 5 sessions, children will have fun with their

    friends and work with their parents to develop

    skills as well as have fun with basic social games

    and activities! This is a great opportunity for par-

    ents to interact with their children in a fun environ-

    ment and to learn techniques for teaching their chil-

    dren sports. Adult participation is required.

    County for the 24th annual VI Putt Putt

    Tournament! Each participant plays 36 holes of

    golf. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies will be

    awarded in 2 sight divisions, as well as most holes-

    in-one:

    A-Legally Blind: has some sight, can make outimages and light.

    B-Totally Blind: no light perception or images

    Our one-of-a-kind farmers market returns for a new

    season! Our first date in April will be a plant sale, to

    help our neighbors get ready for Spring! Vegetable,herb and flower plants will be available for purchase,

    to benefit the Therapeutic Recreation Summer Camp

    scholarship fund. Produce and plants will be grown

    by the Gifted Gardeners TR horticulture class, and

    donated or sold by local gardeners. The Garden 2

    You market is a great place to find the freshest local

    food, in your neighborhood! All proceeds go directly

    improving basic cooking skills, participants will learn

    about kitchen safety and hygiene; making healthy

    life goals and values, and other topics that are im-

    portant to you.

    Spring is coming! The Gifted Gardeners will be

    very active: filling our raised tables with

    vegetables, flowers and herbs; caring for permanent

    plantings at the Marion Diehl Center; and crafting

    items using plant materials. We will be preparing

    for the Garden 2 You farmers market dates in

    May and June! Please note that some classes will

    take place at the Sensory Garden in Nevin Park,

    where we will be outdoors and possibly negotiating

    uneven terrain.
