TPIC Community News Christmas 2015

Frosty days and ice-still nights,

Fir trees trimmed with tiny lights,

Sound of sleigh bells in the snow,

That was Christmas long ago,

Tykes on sleds and shouts of glees,

Icy-window filigree,

Sugarplums and candle glow,

Part of Christmas long ago,

Footsteps stealthy on the stair,

Sweet-voiced carols in the air,

Stockings hanging in a row,

Tell of Christmas long ago,

Starry nights so still and blue,

Good friends calling out to you,

Life, so fact, will always slow…

For dreams of Christmas long ago.

Winter Wonderland

On 1st, 2nd and 3rd December The Partnership In Care welcomed the start of the festive season by holding our

annual Winter Wonderland event. We were joined by local schools Culford and Cherry Trees, who sang Christmas

carols for our residents before enjoying a visit to Father Christmas' Grotto, a skate on the ice rink, carousel rides and

a bouncy snow globe. Residents were also able to take part on the ice rink by using the skating chair, plus we had a

Santa's Sleigh wheel chair swing. Warming hot chocolate and homemade sausage rolls were served in our Christmas

drawing room along with the delicious smell of mulled wine and mince pies.

Cocktail Night at Risby Hall Risby Hall celebrated the start of Christmas in style by hosting a cocktail night for residents, relatives and staff. The

team put on their best party outfits and indulged in delicious festive treats made by Josie and Lisa in the kitchen

whilst listening to the beautiful sounds of a harpist.

Happy Christmas from Halesworth Beech House has been busy celebrating Christmas this year. Their Winter Wonderland was a massive success for

the residents and visitors alike, the reindeers Latte and Spot were very rather preoccupied with eating rather than

being sociable but residents and children loved seeing them as many had not seen a real live one before. Percy the

barn owl was much more sociable and sat on every single person’s hand that he came into contact with.

Their Christmas party was a huge success. Staff performed acts for the residents including a dance form the Senior

Team that created much fun and laughter. Residents continued the drinking and dancing through until evening,

thus meaning many of them and staff had very sore joints the next day due to extra the exercise.

Three school choirs have visited bringing much joy to many residents, not only did the residents listen to their

angelic like voices but they were able to sing with them, and then they thoroughly enjoyed the interaction after,

whilst having refreshments with the children.

Panto time at Sherrington House

Residents, relatives and staff at Sherrington House were entertained by Eva Long

Productions version of Jack and the Beanstalk and Christmas Carols where the residents

joined in.
