Of the park on the corner of Merriman and Townsend street that I mentioned almost a year ago. It is a large piece of land with much potential, yet to date the swings are still missing, As far as I am aware, no attempt has been made by the municipal authorities to upgrade or at least repair the swings at this park. Surely if the few parks that we do have in Goodwood are well maintained, then this would make people want to use them? With the rate at which flats are now erected on any piece of ground available, our parks become more and more precious and need to be maintained else parking lots are going to be the only playgrounds that our kids will know. Ask yourself when is the last time you or your kids felt the tickle of grass under your feet? Don’t be surprised if you find it hard to remember as this is what city life does to us. Don’t let life in this concrete jungle destroy what little nature we have. Let us do what we can to keep our parks clean and safe.
