Coming Together to Tackle Bullying(The Woodland/Currie Story)

Split into groups of FourYou can see that pupils from both schools have ‘moved on’ since the bullying incident. The questions belowwill help us to examine this ‘transformation’:

1. What did the schools do to resolve the bullying situation?

2. How were the pupils involved in this process?

3. What was achieved by their actions?

• Where do pupils with a learning disability in our community go to school?

• How often do you meet young people with a learning disability?

• Thinking about our school – what opportunities do you have to meet young people with a learning disability?

We are all the same and each of us is different

A learning disability is only a difference

People with a learning disability may need extra help to do things but are entitled to (or can live) as good a life as anyone else.

People with a learning disability have a right to be safe wherever they are – it is a crime to bully someone because of their disability.

Doing things together is a good way to break down barriers and get to know and understand life from another’s person perspective.
