Royal Tomb of King Suro8HAs one of the symbolic relics of
Gimhae, the tomb of King Suro, the founder of the Garak Kingdom is
also called 'Napreung.' King Suro was born at'Gujibong' on March 3,
42 A.D. of the lunar calendar, was crowned on March 15 to found the
Garak Kingdon, and died on March 20, 199 A.D. This isthe place
where he was entombed. Visitors visit the round grave mound with
dignity after passing through the front gate of Napreung engraved
withtwo colored fish which imply the sea god of the Ayutah Kingdom

Sungseongjeon Ritel (Provincial Intangible Cultural Asset No.
11)Sungseonjeon is a royal palace where ancestral tablets and
incense fires for King Suro and Queen Suro are enshrinedand

15 and September 15 of the lunar calendar, inspring and autumn,
respectively, and more than 10,000 people, including those from the

Royal Tomb of Queen Suro8GThis is the Royal Tomb of Queen Suro,
princess of Ayutain India who married King Suro, the founder of
Garaknation, in 48 A.D. It was repaired in the 15th year of
KingKojong of the Joseon dynasty and turned into whatit is today.
Two of the ten sons of Queen Surokept her surname and became the
foundersof the Gimhae Hur family.For this reason it iscommon that
peoplefrom the Gimhae Kimfamily and those from theGimhae Hur family

Gujibong8G (Historic Site No. 429) This is the place from which
the Gaya culture started,with the myth that in 42 A.D. , 6 golden
eggs in agold box came down from heaven and the foundersof the 6
Gaya Kingdoms, including King Suro, cameout of the eggs. In
addition, 'Gujiga,' one of theimportant epic poems of Korean
literature, stillremains there. Because of its significance, it
becamea historical site on March 7, 2001. From the shape ofa turtle
head, it was originally called 'Gusubong.'
This is a major shell mound of the Gaya Period and the largest
residential site of Geumgwan Gaya found to date. Along with the
shell mound in Hoehyeon-ri,which was discovered in 1907, it was
designated as Historic Site No. 2. The port and village from the
Gaya period have been restored.

Bunsanseong9GLocated in Bunseongsan (Mt.) in the center of
Gimhae city, it was constructed by ParkWi, a deputy delegate, to
guard against Japanese invaders in the 3rd year of KingWoo of the
Goryeo dynasty (1377) and was re-built in the 8th year of King Go
Jong ofthe Joseon dynasty (1871) after its collapse during the
Japanese Invasion (1592). Fromthe construction method of the
foundation, it is estimated to have been built for the firsttime in
the Gaya period. There are Haeeunsa (a temple) founded by Queen
Suro andJangyu-hwasang when they came to the Garak Kingdom,
Chungeuigak (a monumenthouse) and Bongsudae (a beacon mound) in
Bunseongsan (Mt.) in the area.
Mae Buddha Statue of Choseondae10HThis is a Buddha statue
engraved on a rock surface inChoseondae using shallow lines. A
legend says that KingGeodeung, the 2nd king of the Garak Kingdom,
invited ahermit from Chiljeomsan(Mt) and enjoyed the Korean harpand
the game of go. It is also called the portrait of KingGeodeung.
However, compared to the body, the head istoo big and the sculpture
is very simple. Judging from thesculpture style, it is estimated to
be an Amita Maaebul ofthe Goryeo Period. At 5.1m high and 2.5m wide
at theshoulder area, it is the largest Buddha statue in Gimhae.
