Who should attend? This Fundamental Course covers the chapter on Portal and Hepatic Venous Interventions in the European Curriculum and Syllabus for Interventional Radiology. Participants should already be familiar with the core elements of TIPS and portal venous disease as this course will delve deeper into the technical aspects that should be considered, such as indications, complication management, the results of certain trials and other relevant topics. What will you learn? • Diagnosis of portal hypertension • Complications of portal hypertension • Patient selection for TIPS procedures • Management of more complex diseases • How to deal with portal vein cavernomatosis and occlusion • Post-procedural management • Hepatic encephalopathy: prevention and management • Portal vein embolisation • Opportunity to explore the technical characteristics of various devices Rome is the capital city of Italy and the country’s largest and most populated municipality with almost three million residents.
