GATHERING AROUND THE WORD
CAMBRIDGE CHIMES WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
GREETING EACH OTHER Ringing of Bell
PRELUDE “Fanfare” ~Mouret Lighting of the candles
*CALL TO WORSHIP L: Come away, disciples of Christ, and rest. P: We love to do God's work, yet we are weary from our work and our
responsibilities. L: Come away, disciples of Christ, and leave the demands of the world. P: But there are always more who need our help. L: That is true, disciples of Christ, yet even he drew away to be renewed. P: We too love the sheep, but need our own renewal. We too need to be with
Jesus, to find strength for the journey. L: Come away, disciples of Christ, and draw strength and rest from the one who
gives us peace and respite. P: Let us go, and there be renewed by the One who loves us.
*HYMN #220 “All People That On Earth Do Dwell”
*PRAYER OF CONFESSION Patient Lord, you know how we are. So often we let the busy-ness and worries of our lives overcome us. Our hearts crumble under the weight of frustration and tiredness. Then we turn away from you, sure that you have abandoned us. We make bad decisions. Forgive us our foolishness. Forgive us our faithlessness. Help us to learn that you are actively involved in our lives, as a creative co-worker, seeking healing and hope not only for each of us, but for the whole world. Continue to walk with us and to make us into disciples of peace and compassion. (silence is observed for reflection and prayer)
*ASSURANCE OF PARDON L: God’s love awaits you. It has been lavished upon you as a gentle summer
rain, refreshing your souls, opening your hearts, healing your wounds. Rest in God’s eternal love and forgiveness.
P: Thanks be to God for healing and forgiveness. Amen.

MISSIONS OPPORUNITIES
1) OPEN DOOR MISSION The Mission Committee is asking for donations of NEW twin sheet sets, crib sheets, bath towels, and washcloths for the new women’s shelter opening in August. A special box is located on the Mission Table. Thank you to everyone who has donated items already.
2) HOMESTEADS FOR HOPE The Homestead is looking to borrow or rent wood chippers and commercial shredders, and also needs people to operate them. They also are looking for volunteers on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9 to 10:30 to help students with planting and plant maintenance. If you are interested, please contact Carol Quinn at 352-9013. Thank you!
WARM FUZZIES ARE BACK!!! Leave a note of encouragement for the Youth and Adults
that will be attending the Mission Trip next month to Niagara Falls. Check out the display board in the Fellowship Hall, and place your notes in each person’s bag. Your notes
meant a great deal to the youth and leaders last year, and we’re sure they will appreciate them again this year.
SUMMER MUSIC Do you have a musical talent you would share with us? The Worship & Music Committee is looking for singers and/or instrumentalists to share their musical talent with us during
our summer worship services. This could be as solos, duets, or other groupings. The music staff will be happy to
work with you on this endeavor. Please contact Ellen, Tedd, or Roger if you are interested. Many thanks!
