"The Lord is my shepherd" We are already at the end of June and we are reflecting on the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which is really the feast of Jesus' Great Love.
Some human organs have their symbol-ism; For example, from a person who is a rebel, we say that he "makes liver". But when a person is good, we say that he "has a good heart". It is because "the heart" is a symbol of love and kindness.
In our time, there is much talk of love, many songs speak of love and also most of the movies. But what love do they talk about? Re-grettably, love is reduced to the sexual, or only to physical attraction or sentimentality.
When the bible speaks to us of the Love of God, manifested in Christ, it speaks of every-thing else. God manifested his love when Jesus came to this world to teach us how God is and how we should live to be happy.
The love of God is not like ours: he does not seek to enjoy himself, but rather seeks to give us life. Another way of God who loves us is forgiveness: in that way he resurrects us and frees us from our sins and weaknesses. It is the joy of the good Shepherd who finds his lost ear.
Jesus spoke to him of the great love of his heart, in his apparitions to St. Margaret Mary Alarcoque, to whom we are often indifferent and ungrateful. That is why today we want to adore, thank and redress the Sacred Heart of Jesus. But we also want to imitate him to love as he loves and not as those of the novel and film act. God bless you, P. Walter Paredes

DID YOU KNOW?
Children experience learning losses when they do not engage in educational activities during the summer. If they are not practicing and reinforcing what they
have learned, children can forget those skills. According to research, most students lose about two months of grade level equivalency in mathematical computation skills over the summer. Therefore, it is essential that children continue to practice and review the skills learned in class.
Mary Immaculate School will have a Summer School program to help students practice and review
the skills learned throughout the year. It is open to pub-lic school students!
The specific objectives of the program will be centered on Language Arts and Math in grades pre-school-7 th and will involve:
-Remediation
-Maintenance of skills learned during the school year
-Reinforcement of skills that were taught
Summer School Schedule
-8am-12pm Monday-Friday beginning on June 24th -July 19th (4 weeks)
-Gates open (Drop off time): 7:40am
How much will the program cost?
2 ½ year old program-$50 registration fee plus, $300 per student which includes all necessary
materials.
Pre-school-7th grade-$50 registration fee, plus $275 per student which includes all necessary
materials.
If you have any questions about our summer school program, please contact Mrs. Cisneros, our
Summer School Coordinator, at 818-834-8551 or stop by the school office to pick up an application.
