AFC Urgent Care, the second largest privately owner oper-ator of urgent care and accessible primary care facilities in the country, has expanded its signature brand of quality health care with a new state of the art center in Yorktown Heights.
Dr. Rajesh Gupta, an Emergency Room doctor leads the AFC Yorktown team as its Medical Director. “I love being more involved with our patients, their families and our greater Yorktown community, which is very different from being in an emergency room setting,” said Gupta who has 22 years of experience in emergency medicine.
The center has its own on-site lab and digital X-ray equip-ment, enabling doctors to diagnose and treat illnesses and set broken bones, all under one roof. Additional services include all typical urgent care services, plus pre-employ-ment exams, drug testing, breathe alcohol tests, sports and school physicals, DOT physicals, pre-surgical physicals and vaccinations, including travel vaccinations. Dr. Gupta is also very passionate about serving those who have served our country and in doing so makes it his priority to see that all veterans have the best healthcare available. AFC Urgent
Care accepts Tricare, the veterans’ health insurance plan and looks forward to working with local veterans’ organi-zations and facilities to bring health awareness, care and education to all the veterans in the area.
AFC Urgent Care Yorktown accepts most insurance, includ-ing Medicaid and Medicare, as well as affordable cash and credit card rates for self-pay patients
Open 7 days a week at 3379 Crompond Road (in the BJ’s Plaza), AFC Urgent Care offers convenient, state-of-the-art treatment. Hours of operation: M-F 8am-8pm, S-S 8am-5pm.
For more information about AFC’s Occupation Health Program or other center information please call 914.930.5550.

Spring is here and there are new and exciting things happening at the YYC.
As part of our April 4, 20016 Networking Meeting at the Lakeland Central School District, Mary Ellen Herzog, assistant superintendent for Pupil Personnel, presented Certificates of Appreciation to Yorktown Auto Body's Perry Gusikoff and his employees for providing a student with a work-based learning experience this year in a new initiative started at the school district. We thank Mary Ellen and her staff for such a great presentation. We followed closely with our evening networking meeting at DML Mortgage Enterprises, Inc. where once again we had a great turnout. We thank host, David Lichtman, for providing our members a wonderful venue to come together and network.
Our upcoming Breakfast Networking Meeting will take place on Monday, May 2, at Frankie & Augie’Z in Jefferson Valley with guest speaker Rich Hargarve of SCORE., Don’t forget our first Monday of every month breakfast networking meeting will now take place there. Following is our evening networking meeting on May 16, 2016 at the Mohansic Grill & Lounge (at the Mohansic Golf Course) in Yorktown at 6pm. It’s our first meeting held outside. Come out enjoy the weather, join other members and network your business. Bring someone with you. By having a morning and evening networking meeting each month, we hope to cover all bases in member participation.

Don’t forget to visit Burger King on June 18 when, 20% of the proceeds that day will go toward the Chamber’s Scholarship Fund.

THE YORKTOWN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS Each year the Yorktown Chamber awards several scholarships to deserving
college bound seniors - and as always, we need your help!
We need you, our Chamber members, to recommend candidates who are college bound seniors with strong aca-demic achievement and significant involvement in schools activities and community services. Candidates must have applied to or been accepted by an accredited college. We are limiting the search to young people with a connection to Yorktown and the Chamber. They must be at least one of the following: (i) the child or grandchild of a Chamber member, (ii) a resident of the Town of Yorktown, or (iii) enrolled at Yorktown High School, Walter Panas High School or Lakeland High School.
Even more important, we need your contributions! It is not too late to be a part of this drive. Any amount, no matter how small, will increase the number of scholarships we can give and the amount we have available to give deserving candidates. Once again we are excited to announce an additional scholarship, The Constance M. Petri Scholarship, funded by the Petri family, in the amount of $2,500.00. As an added incentive, all donors will be invited to be our guests at the Scholarship Awards Dinner on July 11, 2016 at Little Sorrento Restaurant.
CAN WE COUNT ON YOU? Please send your recommendations and your contributions to the Chamber as soon as possible.
Attention Chamber Members: Bring in your promotional materials to the Chamber office to be included in our new member packets and press kits.
