You offer us a banquet and we want to write the guest list. You invite and we make excuses. Forgive us God. Turn our consumption into communion and enable us to be your body. Thank you so much for the wonderful welcome and reception last Sunday. My entire family felt so very much at home and embraced by your hospitality and care. So many of you introduced yourself and Jen and I both saw our children making all kinds of new friends. Worship with you was an amazing, God-glorifying experience! Dozens of you told me how you experienced the Holy Spirit’s work in our sanctuary and be- yond. Our two year old Penelope sure enjoyed herself! She could not stop dancing to the music. We are so looking forward to joining you in a few weeks. Right now we are on vacation for a couple of weeks, catching our breath. My first day as your new Lead Pastor will be September 6 and I will be in the pulpit again September 11. Watch the newsletter for a sermon series that will get us started together (but continuing His good work) serv- ing Jesus Christ in Edmond. I am excited to see the Lord’s plans for us. We know His purposes will stand! (Proverbs 19:21) Thank you for your prayers for our smooth transition to Edmond! In Him, Eric A LETTER TO THE CONGREGATION FROM DR. ERIC LAVERENTZ
