The guest speaker, Don Cotton, captivated the audience in Mr. Benner’s class as he discussed and showed artifacts from the Civil War.

All 8th grade science students review for STAAR using student-created informational posters based on TEKS.

AVID students build a family-like atmosphere by participating in team building competitions. All games were student created and voted upon.
SHOWCASE CLASSROOMS
Mrs. Winkley and Mr. Benner combine classes in the library to collaborate and co-teach through the difficult process of scripting the answer to mini data-based-questions.
SHOWCASE CLASSROOMS
Mrs. Moreland presented an anti-bully DAVE lesson to her students based on Jay Asher’s novel Thirteen Reasons Why. Go by her room or search #reasonswhyyoumatter to see the insightful thoughts of our TSMS students!
SHOWCASE CLASSROOMSCONTINUOUS

Mr. Quattlebaum provides a flowchart to guide GTT students through the complicated process of building a telegraph. The processes of drilling, hammering and wiring flowed smoothly with little questions.
SHOWCASE CLASSROOMS CONTINUOUS
IMPROVEMENT
Mrs. Moreland utilizes a flowchart to help guide her ELA students through the process of writing an essay. Beginning with a plan and ending with what to do once students complete and turn-in the essay.
SHOWCASE CLASSROOMSCONTINUOUS
IMPROVEMENT
8th grade Social Studies students have a voice in how prepared they feel for the upcoming STAAR test in Mrs. Martin’s class. The Status Check reveals who needs more review and who could help peer tutor in class.
Mrs. McDavid created a flowchart in PowerPoint to steer her students through the process of reading a passage and answering STAAR reading questions. The test taking strategies were helpful and a flowchart will be used again the future, she says.
