SYNOPSIS
Through the eyes of 6 women some who have become leaders and others victims we will uncover the social change which is happening in the Arab Spring countries
7KLV LVDFRPPXQLFDWLRQFDPSDLJQDQGDGRFXPHQWDUAgraveOPDERXW WKHFUXFLDO UROHRIZRPHQ in the VRFLDOFKDQJHthat is being experienced in the $UDE6SULQJand we will see it from the point of view of the six of them who have participated directly in the UHYROXWLRQto the point that their lives have changed forever They are all DFWLYLVWV They all defend womenrsquos rights Only three of them have become OHDGHUVof the movement The other three have become YLFWLPV but they continue AgraveJKWLQJ
We will meet one victim and one leader at the beginning of it all How and why did all this begin What was the situation in the countries then Did they foresee the chain reaction that it would provoke Where were they We will discover the origin of it all the circumstances which existed in that society and which in the end led to one of the most important social movements in modern history
Q(JSW Tahrir Square has been converted into the epicentre of the Arab Spring Shahira Amin and Hania Moheeb were there 6KDKLUDHPHUJHGDVDOHDGHUand an icon when she left her job as a MRXUQDOLVWDW1LOH79over her disapproval of the way citizen protests were being reported From here she became an activist for free information and for womenrsquos rights She told us about Hania a journalist colleague who became a victim In the celebration of the 2nd anniversary of the riots she was UDSHGEDJURXSRIGHIHQGHUVof the regime in Tahrir Square also known as Liberty Square Her life changed dramatically However her case is not unique Therefore she decided to VSHDNRXWand to be a champion of the VWUXJJOH IRUZRPHQmiddotV ULJKWVDQGDJDLQVW LPSXQLWof dominant groups because as she says ldquowomen are punished twice - once by being a victim and the other time by being held responsible for the attack by their own kinrdquo How and how much has her life changed with the revolution How have her surroundings also been affected Has it been easy to break down religious social and economic barriers We get closer to the conservatism of Egyptian society trying to understand the words of Hania and in turn recognising the value of the work of these women who break social religious and economic barriers to AgraveJKWIRUDPRUHMXVWZRUOG
What future awaits the Arab countries following the rise of social protests Have their expectations of change been met as women and as society of the Arab Spring With them we talk about GUHDPV LOOXVLRQV but also the IHDUVthat the GLFWDWRUVKLShas left in their country It is not easy to recover but they have decided to take the lead and to be the most important engine of social change that awaits us in the 21st Century the IXOOOLEHUDWLRQRIZRPHQ
As mentioned the purpose of the documentary is to discover the reality of a place and a people that has risen asking for changes that result in freedom through women who have been involved in this process and simultaneously oppose those dreams with the reality they face every day
At a structural level we will start by introducing the Arab Spring and the countries involved then PRYHLPPHGLDWHOWRIRFXVDWWHQWLRQRQWKHUROHRIZRPHQLQWKHUHYROXWLRQWRAgraveQLVKEPHHWLQJone by one our protagonists
With each one of the women we will rebuild based on memories and footage the beginning of the revolution according to the real experience and feelings awoken within them
Approach
From here we will hear the womenrsquos personal stories and what has made them leaders or victims Through the women and their stories we will learn in depth the world in which they live and the place left for them
The next step of the documentary will discover what they do to change their world and thus get to know their side of the struggle for the rights of women in particular and the rights of the whole society to which they belong
Speaking of the society to which they belong we ask what has been the spirit of the revolution if what is claimed to have been achieved truly has and if we have obtained a better world
We also analyse the SROLWLFDODQGVRFLDOVWDWXVin the countries of the Arab Spring and the SURJUHVVmade with a particular focus on the role of women
Finally we will encourage the leader and victim in each country so that they can meet share their opinions and join together to continue waging a struggle that inevitably has to bring them to full freedom It is important to highlight the fact that the revolution has transformed them into leaders or victims does not change one iota the importance of their work since both are activists and have EHHQAgraveJKWLQJIRUDFRPPRQJRDO

This project is based on the characters that appear We have 6 women Three leaders Three victims Two women to act as main characters
