Just Us Mitchell Jones and collaborators Wed 17 Sep – Mon 22 SepCirCus and TheaTre Directed by Mitch Jones, Just Us satirises the bureaucratic processes of justice within a compelling and interactive theatrical experience, presenting an acerbic and satirical observation of Australia’s justice system, and those entangled within it. Featuring the impressive talents of over 30 of Melbourne’s finest performers, writers and designers.

My Life in BoxesGravity Dolls Wed 17 Sep – Mon 22 Sep CirCus My Life in Boxes unpacks the story of a pathological hoarder uprooted from her carefully constructed existence and placed into palliative care. As coveted items are unearthed, life-defining moments are animated with magical realism, and memories take on new meanings in her final stages of life. Performers Tim Rutty and Tarah Carey challenge the laws of gravity as the story unfolds between the past and the present, the ground and the air, in an imaginarium coloured by circus, movement and spoken word. Directed by Maude Davey.

Time: Show starts at 7.00pm (approximate running time: 75 mins)Ticket info: Full $26, Concession $23Bookings online at thesubstation.org.au or at the door (unless sold out)Supported by Arts Victoria and Bendigo Bank

Time: Show starts at 9.00pm (approximate running time: 70 mins)Ticket info: Full $26, Concession $23, Group (4+) $21 Bookings online at thesubstation.org.au or at the door (unless sold out)

Symphony of StrangeGareth Hart Tues 30 Sep – Sat 4 OctdanCe and MusiC Symphony of Strange is an immersive dance work, set to a smouldering live orchestra of 50 non-musical instruments: the banal, broken, found and fascinating. Inspired by Gaston Bachelard’s Psychoanalysis of Fire, the work explores the body in relationship to the volatility of fire, the fury of heat and the intensity of temperature. Nominated for Best Dance at 2012 Adelaide Fringe.

Time: Show starts at 9.00pm (approximate running time: 45 mins)Ticket info: Full $25, Concession $22. Bookings online at thesubstation.org.au or at the door (unless sold out)
