LocationSwansea is the second most populous city in Wales with
a population of 239,600 as at July 2012. Swansea is the
commercial, educational, sporting and the cultural focus for the
South West of Wales.
South of the site lies Wind Street which offers a wide variety of
bars and restaurants such as Walkabout, Revolutions Swansea,
Las Iguanas and ASK Italian. Swansea castle and the new

and retail units, are also within close proximity. Parc Tawe
Retail Park is located north of the site with a number of retail

Swansea is home to two major Higher Education Institutions;
Swansea University and the University of Wales Trinity Saint
David (UWTSD). This site represents an attractive opportunity

UWTSD is located in the centre of the city, with Swansea
University Main (Singleton) Campus located approximately
two miles west of the city centre. Swansea’s newly opened
Bay Campus, located 5 miles east of the city centre, has been
designed for 5,000 students and includes 900 rooms.
The UWTSD main campus is in close proximity to the amenities
of the city centre, while Swansea University is located in parkland
and botanical gardens overlooking the Swansea Bay Beach.
Swansea University has worked in collaboration with First
Cymru Bus Services to ensure students from all campuses
have immediate access to the city centre. Buses run every
8 minutes during peak times and until 2am on Wednesday,
