BACKGROUND

The numbers of entrepreneurs in Indonesia are

relatively small. The proportion is only about

0.24% of the total population, while the ideal

number of entrepreneurs to develop a

country’s economy is at least 2% of the total

population

Innovative program

The student will get several programs character & knowledge to make new business or expand their business.

Student will have the opportunity to get mentoring from expert, training, business pitching and support funding.

METHOD

Quantitative method with questionnaire and

also using qualitative method through

interview.

25 students with random sampling from

total population 75 students (Member of

University of Indonesia Studentpreneur)

FINDINGS

72% of the participants think that the program is effective enough to give

them knowledge about the entrepreneur. Furthermore, all of the

participants stated that from this program they get lessons to build their

leadership character.

the numbers of participant that continued running their business after they graduate

are relatively high compared with the participant that will immediately working after

they graduate. This result could help the government to reduce the educated

unemployment.

Findings from deep interview

only one twentyfifth of them will become a member of

University of Indonesia Studentpreneur

This program is monitored by senior entrepreneur, so

that when student become a member of University of

Indonesia Studentpreneur, they will be trigger in

developing their business

SURPRISING FINDING

. Some of the University of Indonesia

Studentpreneur members often prefer not to

attend their classes because they could already

earn money and they thought the classes didn’t

give them applicable knowledge.

DISCUSSION

University Studentpreneur not only make

students get an economic independence for

themselves and leadership character, but it

also has impacts on many aspects in society

such as ;

economy,

social, and

politic.

CONCLUSION

University of Indonesia Studentpreneur are one of the effective solution in

solving the problem in Indonesia which could be implanted in other

university or even in other country

University of Indonesia Studentpreneur could make students realize that the

business is not only for themselves but also for the society around.
