Being a real incubator of ideas and cultural projects, the Fair creates the proper context for partnerships between book professionals and supports the editorial programs of promoting the inter-cultural dialogue. I AM READING. WHAT ABOUT YOU? Photo exhibition by Mircea Radu, TV producer

The idea of the project “I’m Reading. What About You?” occurred to me while I was walking in the Herastrau Park. Not a single person from all those who were sitting on benches – and there were plenty, as it was around lunch time – had a book in their hands. Nobody was reading… Then I met my friends, Dinu Lazăr and Vlad Epstein, I spoke to them and we agreed that there must be something we can do to improve such a situation. And this is how was born the photo exhibition “I’m Reading. What About You?” in which famous personalities and popular people do the same: they are reading!

ADA KALEH – THE LOST ISLAND OF SOUL (level 7.70) Organized by the Romanian Peasant Museum, the exhibition brought to the attention of a large audience less known aspects about the history of Ada Kaleh Island, immersed under the Danube waters once works for the Iron Gates hydroelectric dam were completed during the 7th decade of the last century. Fragments of interviews with former inhabitants of the island who were forced to move, photos from their personal archives, images from museum collections and archives, these documents put together shape a pale, yet touching image of the lost paradise. A necessary approach based on the belief that with the disappearance of the last islander, there will be no witness of Ada Kaleh phenomenon.

The exhibition PAGES IN THE HISTORY OF THE RADIO (level 7.70), organized in collaboration with the Romanian Federation of Radio Amateurs and the Association of Radio Collectors in Romania presented, in documentary photos and real exhibits, for curious and passionate visitors of all ages, an interesting and short history of the representative phases in the evolution of the radio and radio devices
