St. George Ribbon became a habitual element of a Victory Day celebration in 2005 when "RIA Novosti news agency" action, which was called simply "St.George Ribbon", started. The idea to create a national symbol of a holiday quickly found understanding in the hearts of all people of our society. And St. George Ribbon was chosen. Since then every spring St. George Ribbon becomes a reminder of a feat of our fathers and grandfathers in the days of the Second World War.

St. George Ribbon – (the bicolor) has orange and black colours.

The Black tape means smoke and orange means flame. St George Ribbons takes the most honourable place among the numerous of the

awards of the Russian army.

In October, 1941 there were hardened fights near Moscow. The Cadets, the commanders and the political leaders of Podolsk military colleges in an unequal fight held the enemy in check on the approaches to the capital about three weeks to win time for creation of a new boundary of defense. Thousands of soldiers were lost.

They won the precious time which allowed our Supreme command to tighten reserves from depth of the country in the most difficult days for Moscow.The Podolsky cadets gave the chance to our armies to create the strong defense on the river Nara and again to revive the Western front.

On a May holiday a tape I will tie, -Bicolor, as a symbol of the Victory.I am proud of the Fatherland,Fathers and grandfathers presented us the world.
