“Things The Bible Does Not Say”
Is Our Lenten Theme For 2018
Have you ever heard the phrase, “God
helps those who help themselves” or “Love the sin-
ner, hate the sin”. They sound good and have
some truth to them. However is that really the Bib-
lical message? The theme this year for our Lenten
mid-week series is “Things The Bible Does Not
Say”.
We will be gathering at 6 pm on Wednes-
day’s starting on February 21 and we will gather for
five consecutive weeks. We will meet down in the
fellowship hall first for a simple meal provided by
the confirmation families. Then we will worship to-
gether and celebrate Holy Communion. There will
be a short video in the middle of worship followed
by reflection and discussion time.
Lent is a special time of year when we focus
more closely on our faith and the ways we wander
from God’s vision for us. I hope you will join us for
these five Wednesday’s in Lent as we reflect on the
ideas that we have in our head that may not be bib-
lical. May God walk with you this Lenten season.
God’s blessings,
Pastor Larry
